Greed. Lies. Ego. And thats just the players. All links with their fans severed by the amount of money swilling around in the premier league to the point that footballers talk about themselves as if fans should be interested in their 'journey' and their ambition to play 'at the highest levels' which means somehow we should all be grateful that they descend to earth and deign to spend a little time with Aston Villa as a stepping stone to greater things. Footballs' soul is about fans and clubs, not players, agents, managers and trumped-up competitions designed to enrich the national and international football bureaucrats who have done nothing but ruin OUR game. When murderers can pass a fit and proper test, when 'fair play' means shutting the door to a private club to anyone else who dares to have a go, when a 'European Super League' is a sickening parody, a closed shop of the rich for the rich to be consumed around the world by people who have no idea what truly supporting a football club is about then we are well and truly fucked. Fucked as a World Cup to be played in a country who punishes peoples basic freedoms and bought the competition with bribes and assisted by a greasy worm of a man in charge of world football to be played in the middle of winter in stadiums built on the bones of indentured labourers then it is a monument to total world class fuckery. And the fuckedupness now has new variants of disaster in 48 country world cups ....what is the point.... sickening greed. Agents feeding off the carcass of the peoples game, players so convinced of their privelege that they would abandon their hometown club, their captaincy , their legacy as a legend of their own club to become a bitpart player for a trashy new money monopoly with no heritage, no class and no values. Players wives, girlfriends attracted solely by wealth who believe they have some expertise in public health and use the tools of social media to spout their idiotic bile and poison from the beach in Dubai, influencing the gullible, giving excuses to the weak-willed, raising doubts and ending up spreading around a fatal disease amongst the poor, the elderly and the gullible. Good on yer Australia for calling out these dangerous clowns, now over to the Premier League to ban players who refuse to do the right thing, playing in front of crowds who must all be vaccinated to protect each other, their families and health service. Do the right thing for once you self-important overpaid conceited twats and get in line with the rest of us trying to get through it all. I wont hold my breath.

Oh yes and stadiums. Its a fucking football ground. 4 stands. End of.

Nail on head!

For anybody with little or no knowledge of association football who wants to find out more about the beautiful game, this is a good introduction.

Well if we were voting I'd say LeonW and IFWaters are pretty much neck and neck. Some top ranting there.

I'd vote for IFWaters. His rants have more acidity.

I also liked Bad English's one on Hodge. No messing about, just unleash.

Ex Manager Rants

David O’Leary: Said he came to Villa to prove he didn’t need to spend money to do well. He then proceeded to moan about having no money to spend for the next 3 years but had the temerity to call us fickle. Good one. From competing with the Tottenham’s of this world to then competing with the Middlesborough’s and then to the Charlton’s, each new interview and season revealed the downward spiral O’Dreary was taking us on after a good first season. Being a manager usually requires management skills. He must have been absent that particular day whilst doing his badges because he couldn’t manage his dinner when it came to players. Didn’t miss the managing upwards course day mind. By the time he got booted out the world had seen enough and he managed only once more for less than a year in the UAE. He had one more sting in the tail to deliver to the Villa. As we were preparing for our 2010 league cup final he announced that for all the plaudits MON had received, he still hadn’t finished higher in the league than OLeary and had spent way more money. He may have had a point.

MON: Imagine reading a whole host of reviews online about a chef and a restaurant where the taster menus were always thoughtful and the food layered and evocative in its’ taste. You then book in to this restaurant, imagining the exciting and exotic fare you’re going to receive before a school dinner of meat and two veg is plonked down on your table with gravy on top whether you wanted it on or not. When you make a query about the menu choices, the chef flounces out despite a host of customers waiting. He never works in such a successful domestic restaurant again but retains the habit of buying lots of elaborate cooking equipment which he never uses. Yet still his online reviews barely seem to change.

Our current manager Gerrard calling Coutinho "a friend of mine" is trying to prove what exactly.

Mate, I strongly advise you to drop this. Dean's not coming back, and these desperate attempts at finding reasons to hate the new guy and valorise the old guy are really, really not dignified.

He is his friend. The relationship dynamic will be adjusted accordingly. It doesn't seem like a Phil and Greasy bromance-type friendship, does it?

Happens in real life all the time - someone from your team gets promoted to be your boss, & a new dynamic emerges, often you won’t be friends in quite the same way ever again, but you’re still friends.
