Yes, his ability as a fullback is the problem and it showed against 2 very good wingers. But he did well and kept going.

Has improved a lot over the past few weeks & a great finish for the goal. Has probably been our most consistent player this season.

But still likely to make a defensive error. Got away with a really poor header in the second half, which led to a blocked shot & Pau's clearance over the bar.

Aston Villa is delighted to announce that Matty Cash has signed a new contract with the club.

Matty Cash signs new deal at Aston Villa until June 2029 plus option to extend until June 2030.

Probably his last big contract.  I'd assume on a reduced wage given the duration and him being about 33 when it expires.

We now need to find a young alternative to be the succession plan.
