My last word on Dean now that we have a new manager. As the man himself said, he left us in a better state than he found us, you can't ask any better than that in any walk of life. Heartfelt thanks and hope to see you back at some point in the future in some capacity ala Brian Little.

How has Grealish shat on the Villa? If Smith can't manage, effectively, a side without him in it despite having spent a fortune it's not Grealishs' fault. Smith failed because of his own lack of nous in the end, not because Jack couldn't be forced to play for us forver.
Wrong thread again.

My last words on this as well. 10 game run, never ever to be forgotten, blues away, Grealish scoring after the punch, Sheffield Wednesday away with 2 last minute goals, play off final, Konsa/Mings last minute against Watford, Trez last minute winner against Leicester in the cup, Engels hitting the post in the final…so close to 2-2,  west ham away last game, Liverpool 7-2, Arsenal away 3-0, Chelsea at home 2-1, Man U away 1-0. Thanks for the amazing memories Deano.

Not being harsh and I loved Dean Smith as our manager but should this thread be unstickied before we kick off our first game under Steven Gerrard ?

Assuming he gets the job ... good luck at Norwich. Hope we both go one better than 92/93 and finish 1st & 2nd respectively.

Just for reasons of taste, or does someone from the club feed this back to management?

Thought he might have taken a bit of a break but the very best of luck to him if he takes the Naaarwich job.

If Lampard has turned down the gig then that hints they've given him no guarantees he gets a short at getting them back up, which is really the reality of the situation rather than keeping them up. Dean should wait for a championship job because Norwich is a potential career ender.

Reports suggest that they’d decide not to go with Lampard before he announced his withdrawal. Seems like Dean has a few days to decide if he wants it or whether he’d prefer a bit of time out.

He probably wants an understanding that he will still be employed should they be relegated.

That was never an issue for Farke. The problem with managing a Norwich or a Watford or a West Brom is unrealistic expectations.

They are always likely to be top end Championship but the Premer League is a different ballgame.

It's almost a curse to get promoted.

The main problem with Norwich is not spending anything upon promotion. It guarantees financial security I suppose, but gives you little or no chance of staying up.

He’s been offered the Norwich job. Good luck to him if he takes it.

As much as I thought his time was up at Villa I will be delighted for him if he gets the Norwich job.
