Just a random though...was watching Football Focus and Jonathan Pearce was doing the build up.

Not sure if anyone has the comms for when we last won there in December 2009 but I get the feeling he did it that night aswell (can't believe how few decent highlights there are on YT for that game).

Always enjoy it when he does our games as he seems to have a bit of a soft spot for us and certainly respects our history in the game. First on MOTD tonight I'm sure.

He did the commentary on Channel 5 for our match against Atletico Madrid in 1998 - always thought that he loved us.

He did the other rounds too. "Atletic Bilbao have been Yorked out of the UEFA Cup!"

The comments on the BBC match report from fans of other clubs are funny. Everyone likes the Villa tonight!

Fantastic result, made all the better by watching it with a villa supporting pal. Will be smiling for the day

I am delighted that I managed to be there today. On the drive in, my Spotify shuffle picked out Sweet Caroline just as I neared the ground and I had a feeling it might be our day. Sung myself Hause.

What I am noticing is that the way we play is the same, regardless of personnel, regardless of how many youth players come in because they play the same too. There is an ethos that everyone slots into.

When Joe was here, we played to him and when he was missing it took ages to work out how to play without him. Just as we were getting it, he would come back, and then we’d lose any semblance of a team plan again.

Now, no matter who is in or out, they know what their role is, they know how it fits together. It’s a team.

So many great performances out there today. Fantastic!

Solskjaer was not only ungracious in defeat he also came out with something that I thought I'd never hear from a ManU manager.  Having a pop at Villa players for surround the ref for the pen.  That's right the inventors of surround the ref and users of said invention for the last 30 odd years have a go at us for doing it, not that we did it to any great extent either.

Everyone played their part today a great team performance.  As has been said 3 or 4 nil would have been about right.

I really hope the Penandes miss becomes a meme.

Great video going round on twitter of someone videoing it from Stretford End. Was miles over the bar.

Emi properly got in his head in the build up to that.

I like the fact that these boys don't take bullshit decisions lying down. Villa teams can sometimes be too nice but these guys seem to have fire in their bellies.

Long may that continue.

That, whilst nerve racking at the time, had to be the sweetest way for the game to finish.  Fernandes got his annual penalty so there can be no post match whinge, and it was worse than Young's on Wednesday.

According to the Beeb, Yanited had 28 shots ,3 on target.28?????
I could have had 2000+ girlfriends in my life going by the number I chatted up...yes they were all shots on goal but pretty useless. ;D

Yeah chatting them up is one thing but cracking the case is something else. I fucking  love Aston Villa

What a fucking day! Great performance, great result, made all the sweeter by winning £320 on two bets. A tenner on Villa to win 1-0 and a tenner on it being a draw at half time and Villa winning at full time! Was sat in the prawn sandwich seats with the Mancs and they were streaming for the exits long before the final result!

Brilliant summary and bet it was lovely leaving Manchester with a win. Your right, no matter what the personal, whether it’s fringe players like Hause or the youngsters coming through, they all slit into the system and know how we play. It’s fantastic to see.

Dare we say it but we may become far better without Joe. Maybe Southgate was onto something last summer?
