Some of the comments on here are just plain daft now. We're playing the champions league winners and many pundits tip for the title. And we've looked fucking good. More than a match for them. We will go on to have a very good season.

Chelsea haven't got out of second gear.  Trouble is they haven't needed to.  We've just surrendered
You on the wind-up?

We've given them two goals I'm afraid.  Hardly had to work for them have they?

Ah crap it. I did not expect us to win today, but this feels as though we’ve had a few steps back from where we were last season.

Many stronger teams will come to Stamford Bridge and lose 2-0. It’s just the fact that we gifted it to them.

I’m confused, how is that a step back?

Honestly think we played better today than the 1-1 last season when from memory we really rode our luck with some of the chances they missed.

And they were also still managed by Lampard then so all round more balanced and cohesive team now.

Bit beyond me how people can watch this and not see there is hope for the season even if it will takes us 2-3 months to properly click.

Can't think of one result I've enjoyed this weekend. Football is wank.
Spurs lost and West Ham didn't win.

Some match stats:

Possesion

59/41%

Shots on target

Them 3 us 6

Corners

them 4 us 11

Thank you SHQ, people on here seem to think we are shit and have been outplayed. I’m sitting watching with my mate who’s an Arse fan and even he says we’ve been the better team

I openly admit I'm not the sharpest dart in the Board but can someone please explain to me how the fuck we are not at least on the scoreboard in this match??.....

Watkins, Mendy, Zeus, Odin, Ra and the combined supernatural forces of Earth history.

What pisses me off where was that first half performance against Brentford? We would have blown them apart.

We always raise our game against the top teams and struggle with the lesser teams, Newcastle apart.

I’m just thinking in terms of what we were doing last season, and results. We drew this fixture last year, although we created less and had less on target shots. I also think our defence has taken a step back somehow, gifting the 2nd goal being a prime example.

I do feel that when this gels, we’re going to genuinely exciting. But we’re not quite there yet.

Mings has probably made more mistakes leading directly to goals since we've been back in the Premier League than any other player. He's always, always got a match-changing fuck up in him.
...and that's precisely the reason why he shouldn't even be in our team, never mind the captain.

Let's face it, he only got the captaincy because he's a virtue signalling snowflake, much in the mould of Gareth Southgate.

That's a really poor comment. I'll put it down to the emotions of watching a game in which we've played pretty well. It's out of order though. One howler aside, Mings has played well.

The fact that we’ve played quite well just makes the fuck up from Mings all the more galling.

Much better display, but not precise enough at either end of the pitch.

Everton becomes a very big game now, some tough fixtures coming up and we could easily start to tumble down the league very quickly

It reminds me a bit of West Ham away last season. Played brilliantly and got robbed in the end but we then went on a very good run for next 6 weeks.

Tricky to see that happening with next few fixtures but think we'll start blowing away some mid table teams whenever we play them if we keep everyone fit.

I think Benitez will be watching this and be pretty impressed so interesting how Everton line up next weekend.
