Nobody panic.  I've been reading the media this morning and apparently Chelsea won't have anyone out because of the 5 day rule and Lukaku is also fit so no injury worried.  No mention of Villa but I assume that means that Martinez and Buendia can also play and we have no injury worries at all...........

All these so called journalists can write about is the scab six

So I see FIFA now have cleared Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Paraguay players to play in England. So they have power to change Covid restrictions now do they?

It is was this not a Covid restriction or something else which prevented these players from playing?

It’s almost like football is corrupt in favour of the “big” clubs.

no they have the power to reverse the decision to stop players playing for their clubs if they failed to turn up to play for their country.

FIFA haven't reversed anything, the rule remains in place but it is at the discretion of the individuals FAs as to whether they want to enforce it. FIFA say that they have had positive talks with the British government about changing quarantine laws for the affected players before the October qualifiers so that it doesn't happen again and, and a sign of this "good will", the respective FAs have withdrawn their complaint about the players playing this weekend.

I've been saying all international break I can see a 3-5-2 type of thing for Villa and pairing Ings and Watkins up front. Matching Chelsea formation and pressing from the front.
Balls played up to the 2 strikers and McGinn to join in the press.

The way Smith talked about Young giving info on Lukaku suggests he'll be involved in the team and need player if this experience for a big test.

Steer
Cash Mings Konsa Tuanzebe Young
Luiz McGinn Nakamba
Ings Watkins

The XI looks like Southgate picked it.

Bailey watkins fit to play. Mcginn and ramsey back

Chuk JPB out

Traore back in training

Buendia and martinez training for next week
No news re Sanson?
Sanson will be back in the team once his hair is a decent length. About December.

He should have shrugged the injury off by now.

Ok I see, thanks Chicago. I thought at first it was a Covid thing.

It still stinks a bit though. So these Super Clubs can prevent the players from playing, get threatened by FIFA saying they can’t play for five days but then bottle it as they are scared of the super clubs.

Or maybe I’ve still got it wrong, after reading CD’s post above.

Anyway, hopefully I haven’t got this wrong, but I have a good feeling about today. We’re going to surprise them and sneak a 2-1win. Bailey will steal the show.

I see pretty much no chance here, but I’d like to see Bailey in the team. We need pace to have a chance of hurting them.

yeah that wouldn't be far off my view. I can't imagine Nakamba won't be involved after being asked to stay away from the internationals only for Smith to go "haha fooled you!"

Five defenders and two centre forwards against Chelsea's midfield would be suicide. I remember what happened last time we played five at the back there.
