I hate voting against us but I can’t see anyone beating Chelsea sadly they are as formidable a team as I have seen in the PL 2-0 them

Chelsea are looking good and we’ve still got many question marks over our team/squad. Don’t expect to pick up any points, so would be happy with a good performance given the circumstances.

Just dont embarrass ourselves. To be honest of Martinez has to miss one i dont mind it being this one as we will probably lose regardless
Ill go for a optimistic draw!

Low scoring draw would be good, I can see us taking a bit a of a pounding though dependant on who we have fit/available.
Voted draw as I can’t back us to lose

I’m assuming we’ll lose fairly comfortably here. We’ve not looked particularly sharp so far this season, and given two key players (at least) are missing it seems a huge ask.

I’m just dreading what our team will look like. Wouldn’t be surprised at new injuries being reported and, being Villa, the actual team will need to get up to speed, gel with each other, ad infinitum.

They will have had most of their players away with their national teams for the past week or so, playing 2 or 3 games. Except Rosco obviously who might have got in a spinning class or two.
Mings seems to be fit with a handy run out v Andorra to keep his fitness up. We will obviously be missing the 2 x Argies but the game after international breaks can often throw up shock results. What we all want to see is a much better team setup after a mini pre season over the past week. No more Young in midfield. Harsh on AEG but if Watkins is fit he has to play. AEG is horrible on the right wing so if Traore is fit maybe try him against his old club there. Tuanzebe to make us a bit more solid and come in at right back.
-----------------Steer
Tuanzebe, Konsa, Mings, Targett
------Ramsey, Luiz, McGinn
Traore, Ings, Watkins
Cash, Young, Hause, Sanson, Nakamba, Bailey?, Davis?

Start of a tough run of games - hoping for the best 1-1 fearing the worst 3-1

4-1 Chelsea.
I would possibly match them up 3-5-2. I don't think we will, but it's worth a go with our 3 centre backs. Young and Cash as wing backs, go with a solid central 3 and Watkins off Ings. With our wide players then given until Everton to fully recover from their ailments.

Given the circumstances anything from this game would be a bonus and we haven't got much to lose I guess. Think they'll just target our midfield and overwhelm us. 3-0.

I think Chelsea will win the league so it's difficult to see us getting anything here. Factoring in the significant absences in the squad and our scruffy start then it becomes all but impossible.
I would've hoped that we could field something near our best side but this international farce has but paid to that so this uncertain period is set to continue for a little while yet.

This could be unpleasant, especially without Emi #1. Ah well, any result is a bonus.
