Just a word about AEG; who else can take penalties? ....
Nobody’s fighting him for it!
Ings took one and scored only last week. His career record is 10 taken,  3 missed. AEG has taken 5 missed 0.

Since we can't wheel on AEG just for pens like they do in American football, I'd rather have a player who contributes more over 90 minutes.
He scores goals from open play.
And pens.
And nobody else does the latter.
Until we have someone else who does that, we keep him.

As long as we continue averaging a penalty a game I am more than happy to keep Anwar in and around the first team!

My abiding memory of the game will be the promise shown by Ramsey.  He is going to be a very good player.

Yep first time he’s genuinely impressed me.

His best game for us.

Luiz and Ramsey made all the difference (the latter having his best game yet) and the team was so much better balanced.

Far from a sparkling performance but a winning one.

There's been too many players of recent times of which you could say the same with a performance like he turned in today, but like brian says, with this lad you feel there's much, much more to come.

After a few promising cameos I thought today was the day he really looked at home in the side.
Had a shaky start but thought he was excellent and got better and better as the game progressed.

Steve Bruce @ Villa Park.  2021.
" We trained all week in dry conditions and today at Villa Park the rain was very wet which we didnt prepare for"

Fucking hell man, that is golden. This bloke has made himself a millionaire from Football management.

I have heard some absolute bollox from Steve Bruce over the years but that quote has rendered me speechless.

Nothing about penalties, though.

A win was needed, and it is always pleasing to take three points against against Potato Head. Fantastic goal from Ings and a cool penalty from El Ghazi. Other than that...

That's the way I saw too. Ramsey's best start for us, he's a fine athlete. Young was very good until he tired. That aside it was very average. Badly missing Grealish let's be honest.

I think missing Watkins, Bailey, Traore, and Sanson might matter more than Jon G

Ings is quality. Buendia was better this week. Ramsey is coming on very nicely. We could do with Bailey being back for his pace. We could do with Watkins being back for his work-rate. We still look like we could use an anchor-man type player.

They looked on it today. Sharper than Newcastle. Some of the passing was tremendous.

Like to see more of the kids get to play.
Loaning out Louie is wrong.  He would be a great option to bring on to the left for the last 20 mins of matches.   He is good enough.
