Like with one or two of Sancho’s shirked challenges, I thought the optics were worse than the facts.

Seems to me Rowe had quite a lot to do after Bailey dangled his leg. Yes it wasn’t great, but Bailey wasn’t to blame for that goal and it feels like a bit of an excuse for a pile on.
Any half decent ‘engagement’ of Rowe at the start would have changed the whole trajectory of that move, and it may or may not have led to a goal.
Baileys inaction, for a professional footballer, is indefensible.

I’ll add, I really like Cash, he’s ace, but Rowe got the better of him all night and he’s a defender.

Listened to a preview of the game (I listen to them post-game so I can see if they know what they’re on about) and the Bologna fan on UTV podcast said Rowe is their best player and compared him to Ronaldinho.

All the Villa previews I listened to hardly mentioned him, or even speculated that he’d be playing!
