You'd hope he's well up for it as he's heading towards his last chance for 1 more big contract somewhere and his last 18 months hasn't done much to form a queue of bidders.

Didn't see this coming at all. After last season I have zero expectations.

he's surely got to be a better option than the not a lot of options we have at times

Watched his Villa goals reel on Youtube/from AVFC TV. Wand of a left foot cutting in from the right. Some great goals. Here's hoping!

He is flaky as fuck when it comes to picking-up knocks. Like Sancho, you wonder how motivated he is to be fit for games after a couple of big contracts. Fucking wingers, are any of them made of tough stuff?
Tony Morley was

The problem with wingers generally is that they get lumps kicked out of them far more than any other position. I reckon most of them only have one or two good seasons before they've had so many injuries they have either lost pace or bottle.

It's a good point but don't centre-mids equally get whacked - not scythed down at top-speed but countless knocks from being in the thick of it (i.e McGinn, Kamara, Onana, Barkley...)?

Yes they do, but wingers are usually a different physical build to CM’s.
That statement has probably made me look rather old but I think it’s the reason wingers can be a bit injury prone.
(I don’t think Onana belongs in that list of yours though tbf 😂).

I for one am delighted he's back, can think of many games this season whereby you just knew watching the game he would have snapped that up, think we have missed his skill set, as mentioned lets hope he can pick up from a couple of seasons ago.

Yes good to see him back in the prevailing circumstances. I think he will need a couple of matches to get back up to PL tenacity.

Yep, more confident in possession than our wide options (Guessand and Sancho). Only lost the ball in harmless areas. A shame he didn't trust his right foot for the chance he had as it gave their lad that extra second to block the shot.
