My gut feeling is that if we do need to sell someone for £50-100m to keep the books ticking over it might actually be Bailey.

His stock is probably never going to be higher than it is right now, he plays in a style and position that rich clubs always are interested in signing, he's the ideal age and it's not impossible that he's just having an Amr Zaki / Roque Santa Cruz season.

I don't disagree, but I think you need to put a couple of decimal poimts in those values. Even Saudi teams can't be that stupid.

So I'm guessing you wouldn't have been selling him for whatever amount those decimal points are bringing in.

He looks like a 5m player on his current form. This is the worst ive seen bailey at villa. His forms been atrocious this year.

Bailey against Liverpool was probably up there with the worst performances I've seen from a Villa player.
He overreacts and stops when fouled, doesn't attack his man, can't pass and only ever cuts in on his left foot.

What annoyed me the most was when he seemed to have injured his left side, and he kept rubbing and inspecting his side as if he thought it was gushing with blood.
He did the same in a CL game if I remember. The faintest brush of his neck by an opponent and he was rolling around on the floor holding his face. The slow motion replay reveled nothing had happened that life threatening yet he then spent three of four mins on the floor surrounded by the medical team.

Unfortunately,  he does appear to be a bit of a man-child at times. Players often suffer from lack of form, particularly wingers. However, you play yourself into form by putting in a shift and grafting for your team regardless.

My player of the season last season, as much for his grit and clearly playing through injury at the back of last season as much as his brilliance.

I don't what's caused this malaise, I suspect it's not fully getting over an injury (mentally, perhaps?) and being a yard short of pace, and then that affecting his confidence and things snowballing a bit from there.

He’s badly out of form, but your opening paragraph is quite a statement. With all the terrible teams and performances we’ve had from 2011 to 2019, never mind the first season back up, or the Gerrard era, or even 85 to 87, Leon Bailey on Saturday, was really as bad as the abundance of shite performance’s in those periods and others.

He was immense for most of last season, not just for one or two games, class is permanent and all that. Hopefully he’ll rediscover his soon.

Man i just cant believe at how much he has fallen from last year. Its like looking at two different players

It wasnt his worst game this season as was unlucky not to score when he hit the bar. But that early chance where he had time and space where he just ran into the man and lost ball so easily. Last season he was busting a gut and doing far better when he had those chances

Its difficult because he isnt playing veey well but jadens but just as bad. Sarr would have been a ideal player for us today
