That left foot is like Thor's hammer when the ball's rolled across.
And did he hit that, wam.

He looked miles better on the left. When he's on the right, the defender can just show him inside every time and it slows us down. Today he pinged that brilliant ball in for Watkins that went behind the Brentford defence. He wouldn't have been able to do that with his right foot, I don't think.
agreed - when on the right he has to slow it down to cut inside. A proper left winger.
Yup - so noticeable from the start today - being on the left seemed to give him the confidence to take defenders on ... and he was tracking back reasonably effectively too.
I have been a critic of his, but today showed him in a much more favourable light than previously.

We have failed to properly use him, Buendia and Ings since they arrived. Shocking really.

Imagine playing him as a winger/forward, instead of having the full back ahead of him. Might just work?

His run and pass for the 4th was a thing of beauty.

The big challenge for them all now including Bailey is to do it away from home. To be honest, the home performances have mostly been pretty decent, it's usually been sticking the chances away that has been the problem. Away though, we've mostly been very poor. Hope that changes at the weekend.

Who'd have thought an international winger, with champions league experience, is better at attacking than a left-back...

Comes across really well in this post match interview

https://twitter.com/avfcofficial/status/1584268671483985921?s=61&t=_awQtJPyLrCBCtewK3rEDQ

Love his interviews. Actually thinks about the question but puts his own personality into the answer (along with that lovely Jamaican lilt).

The amount of media-trained, boring-bastard interviews that 99% of players give to boring questions, it always makes a nice change when a bit of the player's actual personality comes through - Grealish was another one who was more interesting to listen to (although that may be cos he were too fick to pass the media-training course).

I think Ashley Young was a big part of this. He was always talking to him - keeping him switched on and involved.

I would love to see him go past defenders even more when he isolates them 1v1 - he has a tendency to turn back and gets crowded out of possession. UTV

He's an inconsistent so and so but when he gets it right, he really is a handful.
