I'd pretty much written him off after Fulham.  But he CAN run with the ball and beat defenders.  Ace!

Way better on the left. Long may it continue
I think Ashley Young was a big part of this. He was always talking to him - keeping him switched on and involved.

I would love to see him go past defenders even more when he isolates them 1v1 - he has a tendency to turn back and gets crowded out of possession. UTV

From the very start Ashley was geeing him up - look at the corner he won for the first goal and Ash is right there applauding and encouraging him - clearly a confidence player.

Interestingly Cash and Ash both ran like maniacs towards the bench when Leons well worked goal went in and loved up both Danks and McPhee - a togetherness not seen in weeks from our squad

Thought he was supposed to have pace? Doesn't look very quick at all to me. Was shit today as they all were.

It’s very obvious he should play on the left. On the left today he did brilliantly to produce a chance that Emi should have done better with.

I think they moved Watkins over to the left to help Young out with Trippier. He constantly ran off Bailey and got behind us. Bailey’s defensive work today was not good.

I think he has yet to turn-up away from home. Part of that will be the team playing poorly and set-up to contain but he needs to be more effective on the break (i.e per his set-up for Watkins last weekend).

If he can’t or isn’t prepared to up his work rate then pack him off back to Europe where he can presumably stroll around without any defensive responsibilities.

Hugely underwhelming signing and he’s had long enough now. Can’t see him being here next season.

We have seen flashes of real game changing ability from him though. To say he needs to be more consistant would be a huge understatement. If he could work towards becoming a 1 good in 3 player it would be a start, better than his current 1 good in a dozen or so.

He's been given more than enough opportunities. We'd have been better off blooding our youth

Sometimes all it takes is a manager to tell a player
“Look I don’t care if you lose the ball, but when you get it run at the defenders, they hate that”. Isn’t that what Graham Taylor and big Ron used to say to Tony Daly.

Obviously I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes at BH but perhaps Gerrard wasn’t as encouraging.
