I'd say he looks a better forward than he does a winger to be honest. His shooting is first rate, and he looks better running onto balls near the area than he does taking people on from the wings.

I agree mate, and in effect he turned Danjuma into a top player doing the same thing.

His goal yesterday and the one against Everton show how to finish one on one against the keeper. Perhaps he could give Ollie a few tips?.

Twat it as hard as you can?  (having a left foot helps, too).

Just warm up those hamstrings first

I did that when attempting a comeback in over 35's a few years ago. Came on for an hour in the previous game having not played for about 2 years, played really well and was drafted straight into the starting 11 the next week. Cracked a loose ball at goal when warming up and felt my hamstring go, didn't even get to kick off. Twat.

The touch to get it out from his feet for the goal yesterday, while sprinting at full pace, was brilliant - just enough to put it in front of him, and give him the extra two or three strides he needed to create space for the shot and not have to break stride, and not so far as to get the keeper interested.  With his pace and finishing ability, he should certainly bag a few more this season playing on the last shoulder like that.

His goal yesterday was exceptional ‘no 9’ play, but then again the little run he did from the left and the absolute peach of a pass for Watkins against Brentford was also exceptional. He seemed to be in a bit of a free role yesterday, popping up all over especially in the first 20 mins or so and Man Utd couldn’t deal with him.

I think they compliment each other pretty well in a system where movement is more important than positions. Bailey is a better finisher and makes some fantastic runs off the ball and Watkins has the industry and hussle to create gaps for those runs in dangerous areas. With 2 from Buendia, Ramsey, Coutinho, McGinn working with them I think we can be really dangerous but we need to work out how Ings and Arhcer fit into this as well.

Watkins played as well yesterday as I've seen since his first season without even getting close to a chance on goal, but his performance opened up the spaces for everyone else.

Putting it like that with more mobility seems we have more options with the same set of players.

I hope we continue to be in a position where we're picking the 5/6 attacking players because they're all playing well, rather than desperately trying to find the combination of those who are the least shit. The two upcoming away games will tell us a great deal I think.

It did but I think it was his hold up play that impressed me the most. First class.

It was his best performance for ages. He even managed to not look pissed off that somebody had else had scored instead of him!

Agree about Watkins.  Looks far better in a central position than out wide.  He had that one chance towards when Buendia put him through, but again his control let him down when he was through on goal and he didn't manage to even get a shot off.

No matter where you place Ollie, he always runs down both channels anyway.

Yes I noticed that he was more animated. And bothered to go over to Bailey.

Did you Buendía he sunk to his knees when Ramsey scored. Wonderful! Like a worship. Such relief.
Like he knew the 3rd was telling.
