It's not enough to turn against the player/journalist, I hope. Sounds a bit Flintstoneish

Nice interview that, and clearly Leon has had a tough upbringing and has taken a pretty tough route to get where he is.  He's made of tough stuff.  One thing I suspect he'll have to let go though, was his comment about hoping to play with Raheem Sterling one day, as I simply don't see Gerrard wanting to buy him.

I thought he was a sound signing and still do, he didn’t help himself with his work rate when his form was poor but I still think he’ll come good, very good.

I hope, I really hope my criticism of Bailey will be rubbed in my face this season.

Come on, Leon
Oh, I swear (what he means)
At this moment
You score everything
You in that kit
Their thoughts, are 'oh shit'
Here he comes again
Ah, come on, Leon

Come on, Leon
Oh, I swear (what he means)...

Think I'd prefer us to sing 'Keep Right On' rather than anything based on 'Come on Eileen'.

I know it's awful... But the last post before mine put it in my head, and I wanted to share the pain.

I don't play Fantasy Football, but I have a few friends who do, and in their discussions on social media I've been genuinely surprised at how many teams seem to have Bailey included.  These aren't Villa fans, just people who tend to watch a lot of football.  Maybe the buzz about his pre-season is extending beyond Bodymoor and Villa Park?  I'm guessing his goal against Man Utd will have been seen by quite a few...

Very excited to see a fit and flying Bailey this season!

I’ve put him in my team, he’s a bargain at £5m, so have a number of others in our league but then we are all Villa season ticket holders.
I like what Dean Smith Said about Fantasy football.
'I don't play it I live in the real world not the fantasy world'

Furthermore, I find it amusing that people laud new Man City - Haaland being a great fantasy football signing yet it's his first season coming under Pep Guardiola but also claim Grealish will be better because it is his second season, and it always takes a season to adapt under Pep?!

According to this logic, Haaland will also fail this season.
Rather than just holding hands up that Grealish and Pep Man City don't fit for a decent fantasy football asset.

I don't play any of the fantasy games but act as an advisor to several friends.
Bailey will do well as an advanced player who is playing as a forward but classified as a Midfielder at a budget price.
Also the first 3 matches metrics would predict 2 goals and 2 assists

Bailey showed very little throughout last season to suggest he would cut it in this League (like Sancho).
If having this pre-season makes him the player many thought he was, happy days.

To be entirely open, I expressed serious doubts about him ... and I hope I'm wrong .

There was context to last season. Injuries Covid international change of manager , settling in and all.

The guys talented. Hopefully not to lightweight for SG aggressive wants. But he could outpace any defender in league and he can play off both feet so as long as he follows Gerrard instructions and doesn't get injured can see a real superstar.
Ability is no doubt from all I know but I get one can have reservations based on last seaso

It's brilliant. And timely too! "Come On Eileen" was re-released yesterday as part of the parent album's "As It Should Have Sounded" 2022 remix.

I thought he was our best attacking player for most of the first half, but he was getting no help or options even when he created space in the attacking areas.
Then he faded completely out of the game.
