One thing that irritates me with him, is his insistence on trying to beat the same guy 2 or 3 times with a move.  You’ve beaten him, now just pass it or shoot or whatever, countless times he tries to be too tricky in the same passage of play.
Reminds me a lot of Charles N'Zogbia - loads of ability, but has the tendency to run down too many dead ends.

Gerrard will have a word with him for sure. Beat your man and look for a pass forward.

He was like prime Yannick Bolasie today. Loads of tricks, trying to beat the same man twice, absolutely no end product.

Bit of a frustrating watch today, needs to be more direct as he was in that brief cameo against Everton.

Keep the fucking ball is my main takeaway on Bailey today.

As long as his injury record with us so far isn't a sign of things to come, and as long as his attitude is decent, i.e he's willing to listen and learn and not sulk if he's in and out of the team this season then i think he'll do well for us in the long run. Slightly disappointing in that when you spend a pretty big fee on an international who's been playing in the German league for a few seasons you pretty much expect them to hit the ground running.

Trouble is, he was injured when we signed him.

I said on the match thread that his performance was the reason he signed for us rather than Liverpool or Man City. And for once I don't think I was wrong.

As some journalist (I can't remember which one) said when he signed, at his best he's elite. It's just that he's only sometimes at his best. Maybe a bit like Dalian?

I think he is feeling the pressure of the big move to the Prem and the need to justify his fee.....he simply looks to me as if he is trying too hard...one touch, beat your man, break or move it on.....atm he is trying to beat 3 or 4 defefenders in a square metre and giving the ball away...a sin at this level!
I am sincerely hoping he will be on the end of good advice from SG and his team and we'll see progress.
Fingers crossed thingy!

yeah plus he had an iffy injury when he arrived, then he got injured. Been stop start, coming into a poor side, new club/country etc.. Think people expected him to hit the ground flying but not sure how realistic that was. I'm confident he will come good though.

As much as anything it's the injuries that worry me. And ultimately they're going to affect him when he does play, because it could take a while to find his feet again. I think we need to make doubly sure we don't rush him back until he's 100%
