Nice to see Bailey is fit enough to join up with the Jamaican squad.
They obviously have a much lower threshold for ‘being ready !!!’

You watch him aggravate his hamstring injury and be out for 4 weeks! Seriously, Villa should be firmer on these call-ups if he didn't play the last two weeks. It's not just the injury risk, but possible jet-lag from travelling. Will we ever field our full strength line-up?

This is pretty shit really. Nowhere near our last two squads, but now he’s off training with someone else.

Is he playing in a red list country too?

Only at Villa.   I see Varane made his Man United debut at the weekend.  Had that have been for Villa, it would be the last game to one at Christmas.  Fucking stupid.

Buendia and Ings made their debuts at Watford

So did Bailey.

Jamaica (amber list) are away at Mexico (red list) on 3 Sept, home to Panama on 5 Sept, then away at Costa Rica (red list) on 9 Sept.

If he goes to Mexico, he’ll have to miss the Chelsea game. If he goes to Costa Rica, he’ll miss Chelsea, Everton and Chelsea again.

Thought it said in earlier tweet he'd just play v Panama, same for Antonio of West Ham to get another the quarantine restrictions.

Ridiculous if he misses our next 3 given he was deemed not fit for the bench v Brentford.

Hopefully he gets sub minutes v Chelsea and then starts v Everton as that's the sort of boost we need.

So Smith stood there after Brentford talking about him def being back for Chelsea must have known about this surely, as manager etc?

I’d file that next to Emi and Emi only playing two games for Argentina…

If Bailey is joining up with them, then surely that means travelling to Mexico for the first game, whether he plays or not?

Surely there needs to be some common sense applied to international football? How many other teams are losing players for matches or are we being soft touches?

We are not soft touches, we are just a very honourable club. I have no issues with that.

I agree.  On the Football Weekly podcast they said FIFA had pulled out some small print and told all clubs that the players must be made available or risk sanction.  After that it is up to the players whether they choose to go.

IF we lose our next 2 games, I will think well at least we are an "Honourable Club"

I could not care less about players playing for their countries during the current COVid restrictions, we need them to be playing for Aston Villa

Players being called up at awkward times is one thing. Don't buy them if you don't want the hassle. However, as others have said, its the fact that he was injured that's annoying and goes straight out there. Any sort of injury rehabilitation plan has gone out the window, and hamstring is one of those injuries.
