He's clearly not fully fit but Emery seems to want to keep him involved.

It says a lot about his character that he's willing to try and play injured, and he did last season as well.

Agreed, he seems desperate to play and be involved but you can tell that leg just isn't right. I just hope he isn't making things worse.

Leon Bailey was our Mo Salah last season. Brilliant. It did not go unnoticed by other teams.

He is now a marked man (teams doubling up) and space has been limited. His like Grealish at the moment, either take on two or three defenders or play the ball back!!

When we have Cash, McGinn fit and also going forward this may take some of the attention away from Bailey. Presently, Konsa is not much of a threat going forward and teams can afford to double up on Bailey.

I am confident when Bailey becomes 100% fit and he has more attacking support on the right he will weave his magic again.

He’s quite patently injured and any other speculation is just nonsense. There was a point in Wednesday night when he received the ball and just had no acceleration so he’s protecting something. Now Philogene has proved he can be disciplined in his positioning it’s less of an issue. Get him fit and he can build again.

Agree with this - do we know what was up with Ramsey - is he likely to be back for the weekend?

He's come back stronger after injuries before and I back him to do it again.

Exactly this. He's normally lightning quick over that first 2 yards after shifting the ball but that explosion just isn't there. Someone suggeted a Hernia earlier but I reckon it's more likely a haematoma, if so that doesn't limit you as much as most injuries but would be fucking painful if he tries to really open up into a full sprint.

Shortly before he got subbed he had the opportunity to run at Davies 1v1 on the transition - and chose not to. Now, Davies is very quick indeed, but I'm 100% sure a confident and fit Bailey relishes an opportunity like that.  He didn't take it.

I reckon he over-stretched his groin. Probably misses a couple of weeks. Onana seemed like a minor tweak to his hamstring, I'm not convinced he'll miss anything because I don't think it was even why we subbed him.

I thought he was feeling it, but there was a very specific plan in place for Barkley to come on after the hour and they were not going to alter that as it was going to win us the game.

I may be wrong, but that's my guess.

Yes. Slight concern for me that Onana seems to be overly ready in-game to reach for an injury excuse when he's not dominating (something similar occurred versus Everton). Not that I'm saying he's feigning it, just a psychological weakness in an otherwise very solid start for the club.

Bailey will come good - felt very sorry for him on Weds.

You could see in the warm up, he was going through a different routine to everyone else, resistance running against large elastic band, I hadn't seen the team at that point and thought it may have been a fitness test to see if he was ready

When he came on, you could tell he wasn't fit and when subbed, it seemed that he knew it was the right call and he wasn't ready

I agree, I think he was uncomfortable but ok to carry on so they left him until the 'planned' change. Given that i'd be surprised if it's anything that keeps him out.

When he came off he was handed a pair of scissors by the physio and stood in the dug out area cutting dressing off some support he was wearing around his groin area. He's clearly not fit and hopefully Philogene can reproduce Wednesday's excellent performance on Sunday.
