Villa or England
« on: July 08, 2021, 01:58:46 PM »
A bit of fun and it doesn't have to be either or in reality, but, gun to your head, who would you rather see win?

Villa for me.

I normally put Villa over England every time, but sorry had to go with England winning a trophy. If the Villa v Watford was the FA cup final then Villa though.

Someone said to me they'd rather see Villa win the FA Cup than England win a tournament. I replied that I'd rather see Villa win a game than England win a tournament

I'd rather see Villa win a corner.

Or throw-in, even.

Seriously, you choose whether or not to support a football team, and you choose which one (well, you sort of do).  You don't choose where you happen to be born and, personally (and certainly since Brexit), I choose to identify more as European (or British) than I do as English. Hence, I have pretty much little or no affiliation towards the England football team.

And don't get me started on Little, Mortimer, Morley, Cowans, Shaw, Withe and Grealish.

Edit: So Villa, obviously!

Obviously Villa. Different circs, might be different (i.e. if Villa were an established Champions League club I'd worry less about their long-term league position etc, but as things are England is a bit of fun and Villa is life or death).

Also I'd get a great party if Italy win so that's a compensation.

Villa

Was our last win at Watford that night game when Mark Mark Mark Delaney scored?
