For those watching, does Bidace look first team ready?

Yes, no as a regular but cups and a few games like Ramsey last season I think would be good for him. Confident and physically strong today.

JPB either goes on loan or we sell El Ghazi and have JPB as a back-up to either Grealish or someone who can fit in as a regular on the left.

Just got back from Bristol which turned out to be a decent workout, didn't really have to get out of second gear but then again we didn't need to as the City defence was very accommodating. Philogene Bidace looked decent and I can see him getting a few more minutes this season in cup games. Ash Young was unlucky with a free kick which hit the bar but looked like he was hobbling a bit in the second half. Also good to see a ref ignore players throwing themselves to the floor at the slightest touch and letting the game continue.

The "banter" between Kevin Friend and the Villa fans was excellent.

I thought hell would freeze over before Villa fans sang “There’s only one Kevin Friend”.

But it happened today! He was getting dogs abuse in the first half, and I saw that he kept acknowledging our fans every time.

Then in the second half, he jokingly gets out the yellow card and books the away end! It ended up being all very pleasant indeed.

‘You’re just a shit Mike Dean’ was funny as well.

it looked quite a physical match to me, not what I was expecting really. More of a cup tie feel to it.
