I mostly agree on the comments about Wesley and Davis.
As Sir Brian said in commentary, neither looked capable of pushing themselves into contention for a starting place.

That said and in mitigation, the service to them was appalling.
Wesley was involved in the build up to both second half goals, but he always looks to me to be a yard off the play and not very confident. I guess that will come by giving him more playing time?
Davis on the other hand was just poor, maybe the knee tweak he got 5 seconds after coming on affected him?

Emi x 2 and Ollie though…….we are going to see some football porn this season I’m sure.

Didn't see the game, but if it's more a thing that he lacks confidence and is a bit off the pace - to me, that's perfectly understandable.  He's not played for 18 months through injury, so you'd expect both of those.

Think one of Davis and Wesley (probably Davis) needs to go out on loan this season.  I'd rather keep Wes than, say, do a Josh King type signing ... OK, you might get 10 goals a season out of King  .... but more likely he'll score 2 or 3 goals, cost a tonne in wages, and he'll be the answer to an obscure quiz question in 10 years time.  Wes, at least, if he scores a few goals then we should be able to move him on next summer.

As for Keinan.  He needs to go somewhere and start scoring more goals.  I don't think he'll ever be prolific, but if he can start looking like a player who might get 8-10 goals a season, he'd be a very good third choice striker for me.  Offers something a bit different, would be relatively cheap to keep on, and hopefully reasonably comfortable not being the 'main man'.

Didn't see any of the game, but a mate reckons Wesley was appalling. Was this the case? Mate has a tendency to pick on poor Wes.

For me he started the half really well, was involved in everything including the assist for JPB and probably should've scored at least 1. On about the hour mark he dropped deeper and played more as a 10 and wasn't very involved from then on. I don't think him and Davis together worked because both of them wanted to play in the same areas a lot of the time. Generally though things got a bit flat after our 4th because they started sitting a lot deeper to avoid the hammering that might have come other wise.

I've seen lots of comments suggesting all  Davis and Wes need to become top drawer goal machines is an extended run in a championship side. You can't polish a turd.

Great to be back in the stands watching the first team. Loved every minute of it.

These games are always fitness exercises and I imagine it was tougher for some than others (McGinn looks like he's had a good three weeks off!)

Positives, aside from Buendia and Watkins (who both look quality up close) Nakamba looked close to full fitness and did well and I imagine will start at Watford, with Douglas's Olympic involvement.

I'm afraid Wesley and Davis are just not up to it. Wesley stopped running after 15 mins and I thought the movement of both was poor. Yes, granted it's a pre-season.

But I can't now wait for the season proper to start .

Apologies if this has already been asked, but does anyone know when they'll be announcing the Sevilla ticket info?

Welcome back.

Not how I would put it but understands and comment.  Wes is no where near where we need him based on a second half against a team that narrowly stayed in the football league last season.  Davis set up a goal and one or two good flicks but again not premiership class TBH

How were the younger centrebacks who made the game last night? - Revan and Bogarde.
Are they in any way the back-up to Hause, Konsa and Mings that we need in the main squad?

They both looked very assured albeit against a very limited Walsall attack. Hard to judge them on last night alone.
