Can I just say that Brian Little is the best co-commentator I've ever listened to.

I really see no future for Wes or Keinan Davis in this Villa side and certainly not part of the future we are trying to create

I dread the day a Faroese player will play in the prem (actually has happened and he has a Danish sounding name)

Good run out for the boys and our yearly pre season win at Walsall.

Wasn't there a goalkeeper who had a few seasons on the bench of a few mid-table clubs?

It very much depends which country they come from...
Guilbert?
Giiilbert or Guilbert.
(Asking, as I don't know)
It's a hard G so it's like guilt or guild in English.

Rego always gets it wrong. His name would have to be Gilbert for his pronunciation to be correct.

It's as annoying as people saying Martínez with the emphasis on the first syllable. It's got an accent on the i for a reason and so is like 'Marteeneth' although some South American speakers would say 'Marteenes'.

As far as I'm aware (which isn't very far), nowhere in Latin America does the lisping on a Z.

Enjoyed that game.

Positives - Buendia and Watkins combined well. Four goals. A run out for some of the youth. Like the look of Bogarde and Philogene Bidace.

Negatives - Wesley does not look like he is in any danger of being good enough. Davis looked great until he gets in the penalty box then did his usual thing.

Would like to see Traore tried out as a striker during pre-season as he has to be a better option than either of those two. God forbid Ollie picked up an injury we would struggle as is.

Yes,  and he got 1 game for Man City. Gunnar Nielsen.  Easy name to pronounce

Can't be too many games where both teams have subbed a player to replace him with his brother? The Ramsey boys for us, Trialist brothers for them.

I think Brian Little was joking about Cash trialing for Villa after being clattered by one of their trialists

Yes, he acquitted himself admirably, as we have come to expect.

As a commentator I'd be an advocate of asking the player what they'd like to be called?!?!?

I think that happens in the Premier League.

Jermaine Jenas was one that springs to mind.

I wonder if Lloyd McGrath, should be McGrar like God or McGraff as is said.

I remember SGT asking Jack Charlton on TV about McGrar during a World Cup, and he was nonplussed.

Didn't see any of the game, but a mate reckons Wesley was appalling. Was this the case? Mate has a tendency to pick on poor Wes.

Just watched the highlights.  Ollie is going to have a birthday this season if he keeps getting balls like that from Buendia! For those who watched it all where did Buendia play as he seemed to make those passes from a No10?

Decent run out for the lads, and no injuries which is important.

Wesley and Davis didn’t look anywhere near like what we need from backup strikers, Sir Brian himself kept on saying the same thing, that they needed to look like they want to compete and give the manager a headache - they haven’t.

Buendia played as a 10 from what I saw but moved in a pretty free role, some of his passes were sublime and he and Olly are already working well together.

I thought Hourihane had a decent game when he was on, also Guilbert looked decent enough to not need another right back.

The Ramsay brothers had a good half each, and the centre back Bogarde too.

All in  all a good run out, 4 goals and a clean sheet but lots to do for some of the players of they want to get in to the first 11, or in the case of Wes and Davis stay in the squad.
