Message I’ve just received

Hi Alex just been onto Anthony at the villa and there is no plans at the moment to issue away tickets for any game. But it might change after Monday when Boris opens the country up.

I got one but have to say the Villa should do better with announcing when tickets are going on sale - no notification to about an hour before.

BTW does anyone know when Stoke are going on sale

Exiled I’m drinking in Crewe with our Crewe fans before Stoke.  Pubs are better and if your going Bristol driving down to streetly for coach  if you want a free lift to brum

When was the last time we didn't play Walsall in pre season, I'm guessing 1971, the last time we were in the same division!

The only West Midlands team with a winning League record against us

I can't remember if it was the 70/71 or 71/72 game at Fellows Park but if you went to their previous home game you got a voucher to guarantee a ticket. It probably put a few thousand on their gate with Villa fans turning up to get the voucher. I drive past on my way to work where its now a Morrisons and always recall seeing loads of Villa streaming away from the ground before kick off having gone through the turnstiles getting their voucher and leaving. We stopped for the game but I cant remember who they played. There was 19k for the 70/71 game on Jan 2nd, and 13k the following season.

I see that Newton Heath are playing Brentford and Everton in pre-season. Seams a bit odd to play teams in the same division.
