I saw The Horne Section play a few weeks ago. They were excellent.

Yep, how much of a Premier League clubs TV revenue comes from Sky, who constantly advertise their gambling products through every match?

The front of shirt is just a drop in the sea.

Sky sold their last stake in Sky Bet in 2018. The brand was just retained but I get the point.

And I bet you weren't looking at Alex thinking 'that's a slim Rory'. He looks nowt like him!

Only time I've heard them live was at the Chicken V Egg match for a bit. Where did you see them? I've completely missed that.

Listen pork features you’ll accept the fat taunts in the spirit they were intended. I just looked at the photo and saw Alex Horne but jowlier.

'Jowlier'? This gets worse!

I believe it's a Black Country phrase that means 'sexier'.

Spurs make a fortune off that stadium. It’s just an asset they sweat for totally non-footballing purposes. The spend on building it didn’t count towards any of their FFP (etc) metrics either. So what is stopping us just bolting on other businesses to the club. Villa could buy Cadburys or Adidas or any other business and just add their turnover to ours. And we could borrow to do it too.

^^ I haven’t looked into it, but I would think that allowable revenue has to be football related, and that income generated from your football premises counts, while profits from businesses in other sectors probably wouldn’t.

This is probably covered by UEFA’s FER - the first two letters of which stand for football earnings.

I think you are right as i am sure that the Ozzy and other concerts were a factor in our improved turnover in recent seasons.

Those concerts proved that Birmingham's location is an excellent draw for mega bands - its a pity the North Stand being out of action means we cannot have any this year of next.

Villa Park is jist as convenient or inconvenient as Tottenham. Its in just a "rough"/urban (I mean, our locals never decapitated a copper in urban riots). Its less rough and easier to get to than Anfield, where I went last Thursday. See the same for Old Trafford at the cricket club. That is just a long a walk if not further back into town, which most do as CBA with the 9ndays waiting for a tram. If you get the act right, they'll come.

Obviously this season we know why we won't.

Birmingham is a decent location for concerts, but we and Spurs are kidding ourselves if we discount their geographical advantage. Their location allows them to attract more artists/sports and there is a wider potential audience in Greater London - and the increased potential for tourists to fly in specifically to attend.

Many artists will do a single UK "show" before moving onto Europe and will they really give up London for Birmingham to do so?

We'll do OK and hold a few events each year but it won't be anywhere near the 30+ that Haringey have approved.

So the Spurs fans just saying be patient and just build a new stadium to increase revenues are being disingenuous - I don't think ANY club other than Chelsea have the opportunity to build an equivalent events venue.

For this reason, I don't really think the chimney dome will ever be realised as designed too. London hoovers up much of the potential economic benefits.

Anfield attracted a large band and bagged 120,000 that London didn't last week. All the major acts tour heavily in the North West at Anfield, Old Trafford  (Lancs CC), Ethiad or at the Co-op & MEN. I don't think there is a geographical advantage for Spurs when it comes to international artists and not with domestic either, as the really, really big ones nip round the North Circular to Wembley.

Yeah, it’s like the ‘who wants to go on holiday in Aston’ argument that gets brought up when someone mentions maybe building a hotel in an area that attracts well over a million visitors a year and is five minutes away from the busiest motorway interchange in Europe and is two stops from Britain’s busiest railway station outside London.

Anfield lost out on an undisclosed "global act" owing to rules around when the stadium can host major concerts, officials from Liverpool FC have claimed.

The club lodged a planning application with the city council to change when it can host gigs such as last month's Foo Fighters and My Chemical Romance shows.

Current rules mean there must be a 31-day window in July when no events – footballing or otherwise – can take place to allow residents respite.

I disagree with your assertion that Spurs do not have a geographical advantage:

Lady Gaga: Chromatica Ball tour did 2x dates at Spurs with no other UK dates.
Beyonce: Renaissance tour did 5x dates at Spurs and single dates in Scotland/Wales.
Beyonce: Cowboy Carter tour did 6x dates at Spurs with no other UK dates.
Post Malone: Big ASS Stadium tour did 2x dates at Spurs with no other UK dates.
Gorillaz: Mountain tour only UK date was Spurs.
Bad Bunny: Debí Tirar Más Fotos World tour did 2x dates at Spurs with no other UK dates.
BTS: Ararang tour will play 2x dates at Spurs with no other UK dates.
System of a Down will play 2x dates at Spurs with no other UK dates.
NFL in the UK has only ever been played at Spurs, Twickenham or Wembley.

And then even when artists play Villa Park and equivalent venues, such as Kendrick Lamar: Grand National tour, Spurs put on 2x dates over our single date.

They have a revenue stream advantage that even Utd/City/Pool will not be able to match.

Sunday afternoon slot at Wychwood Festival. Just doing all the bits / songs from the various TV appearances, but still good fun.
