Operating expenses increasing by £73m is very strange. Shenanigans?

Are these an expenses that can be written off, like academy investments etc?

If so, we might be looking to splurge on Opex rather than paying players directly. Michelin star food rather than standard canteen fare, luxury toilet rolls etc.

Adidas getting a return on their manufacturing and Betano on their sponsorship with those massive kit/merch increases, absolutely massive in % term compared to anyone else.

But from a very low base when you look at the other EPL merchandising numbers. Chelsea at £95m, Jawdies at £40m ... we need to really wind up the commercial activities across the board if we stand any hope of competing year after year.
