The first part is fucked up. The second part is only because he underperformed last season, or he would be going somewhere better (or staying at Juventus).

A question. Last accounts wages shot up from £194m to £252m. Is that likely to be (a) because it was 13 months instead of 12 and (b) owing to bonuses for qualifying for the Champions League. Therefor we should see a natural 7% reduction because it's one month less and also a reduction in bonuses as we only qualified for the Europa?

Yes to both is what I’m thinking. Definitely for the 13 month thing. Two Junes in that period as well, which is the worst possible month to have two of for a football club. Not much revenue, wages the same.

If Forest qualify for Europe again this Season, am I right in thinking they will also find UEFA's spending rules a lot more inhibiting?

Incredible isn't it?  Bournemouth, they of the 23000 gates for a home game, have spent 100 million quid.  We can't spend shit.

I think it’s more like 12,000 isn’t it?

There looks to be an interesting article on fans fury in the weekend games.  But it’s behind a paywall if anyone can oblige.  I like his writing.  I remember him calling out MON’s limitations when he was with us.

I'm starting to see a few articles like this. I think public opinion is shifting and the "moaning" is working, to an extent.

Do transfers like Ramsey's mean a rule rethink is needed? - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c0kz16d80kro

What is emerging is conversation not just about the rule and it's "possible" unintended consequences (there is always a school of thought or conspiracy theory that the big established high commercial revenue teams wanted this all along), but the obvious fact that the clubs most impact buy this during this window are the closest challengers to the established few. Just as Newcastle, Villa get to breaking into the top 4 with any regularity the financial doors slam shut. The disparity this summer between what we have spent or Newcastle and that of the commericial big 6 has never been greater. And with the current rules in place, if it's always spend relative to revenues then nobody outside those clubs will bridge the gap. They will always secure the best deals, go on elaborate tours, spend the most building their brands across the world. Nobody will catch up.

It's attendances rather than capacity. Aren't Royals fans less than enamoured with their owners at the moment?

EDIT: They've dropped to League 1 and since been taken over.

Could be worse I just checked the Villa fans worried thread and people were sceptically pleased about a bid for the club from a Ray Ransom consortium.
