One of the potential players of the season along with

Rogers, Konsa, Tielemans

Shout out to Cash as well. Most improved along with Maatsen.
Cash needs to be towards the top of that list - it was his form, followed closely by that of Konsa, that finally got us going last autumn.
I think that Cash has been immense this season.  This season - I woudl have it between Cash, Konsa and McGinn

For “player of the season so far”?

You’d deffo want to add Rogers and one of the central midfielders - Kamara, for number of games played and form - to that list.

As important a player as he is, and acknowledging his contributions and role as skipper and talisman, but SJM wouldn’t be on my list of players of the season so far, personally.

And Matty Cash always plays with a brilliant positive attitude. Always smiling and just generally pleasant. Has his detractors but he’s one of Emery’s most dependable players.

Never trust a player that smiles too much.

He smiles to the limit of the smiling rule before trust erodes.

Agreed - also having to play so much given the lack of competition for his place (compare and contrast to Digne and Maatsen on the other side), and as you say, pretty much dragging us out of that slump.

Not the best player of the season, but arguably the most important.

Looking like he had Redemption Narrative Arc of the Season wrapped until Bailey turned up out of nowhere.

I didn’t add Kamara or SJM  as I don’t think they’ll get player of the season due to the time they will now miss.

Are we reaching the "eat my own hat" threshold, yet?  I, and a few others were given pelters in the style of "oh he's player of the season, right?" early doors.  Smug now.
His one touch passes and flicks might not always come off but when they do they provide impetus to our, sometimes, ponderous attacking play.  Got a great link up with Rogers.

He gets so much shit for giving the ball away when Morgz does it even more. They're both creators and are allowed try things that don't always come off cos when they do, it wins us games.

He has got to sort his attitude out.
Fucking off straight down the tunnel after being subbed is not a good look and not the sign of a team player.

Nah. I never get the slightest impression that he isn't a team player, and probably sensible to head off when subbed rather than sitting in wet clothes in the cold. Strange thing to worry about.

Because every player who is subbed when it’s raining goes straight off to get warm and dry, the little loves.

It’s impetuous and a crap attitude.
Maybe if he had not reverted to Buendia V1.0, he wouldn’t be subbed so often.

There is absolutely zero from his play to suggest he’s not a team player - if anything he’d be one I’d illustrate as an example of a team player. Who knows what that was about last night, but bit premature to question his attitude.

I think this is hysterical nonsense tbh. Given that he will almost certainly be in the squad again this weekend, I'd imagine Emery cares about as much about this slight you've found to get yourself so worked up about as I do.
