Anybody else shout "shoot!" when he got the ball today? 5  league goals of enormous quality so far this season. Hes like the modern day Garry Parker but technically superior and he works his nuts off.

Naturally everyone will focus on the shot and goal but the move to get the ball to Emi was beautiful.

If he keeps this up the he'll probably be off to the World Cup in the summer.

Hell of an incentive for him after the last couple of years.

I was cussing him in the first 10-15 minutes, in which I felt he'd been his old wasteful self. But that was a terrific overall performance from Emi, today, and a superb goal.

So am eating a little more Buendia-shaped humble pie tonight, having suggested that this window might be the right time to offload.

Offload??? After the season he’s having? There’s nobody in the side that has his tenacity and will to win. In my book he’s irreplaceable on current form. Cracking player who will make the odd stray pass ( don’t they all). Bundia is a great player.

I think we might well look to move him on in the summer. He's been great but assuming he keeps up these sort of performances and goes to the world cup I suspect his value will be as high as it's ever going to get and he'll be into the last year of his contract so it will either be a case of selling him as well as we can or offering him a new deal and I'm not sure about the latter unless it's just an extra year and kicks the can down the road.

He doesn't go to ground as easily and wave his arms about as he used to and is all the better for it. Seems totally committed to the cause.

One of the potential players of the season along with

Rogers, Konsa, Tielemans

Shout out to Cash as well. Most improved along with Maatsen.

Cash needs to be towards the top of that list - it was his form, followed closely by that of Konsa, that finally got us going last autumn.

I think that Cash has been immense this season.  This season - I woudl have it between Cash, Konsa and McGinn

Agreed - also having to play so much given the lack of competition for his place (compare and contrast to Digne and Maatsen on the other side), and as you say, pretty much dragging us out of that slump.

Not the best player of the season, but arguably the most important.
