This is so we can bring Cunha in.

Players and their wages are budgeted for.Yeah but 96% of income on wages isn't going to be allowed . 70% max under the new rules .

Which is why Diaby left and is why we've let Carlos leave, as 2 of our highest earners who weren't really justifying that with performances. It's why we were also willing to let Digne go but he's changed that by proving himself worth the money. That said I think that 96% figure needs to be looked into a little more and given more context. That's based on the 22/23 season where we had a big expense of paying off Gerrard and hiring Emery (and all their coaches), we've also moved on a few high earners. On top of that our income has increased significantly, with turnover of £400m looking possible this season, compared to £205m-ish that season.I doubt we're at any imminent risk of going over 70% so, if we do let Buendia go, it's because we think we can make better use of the money and squad place.
I’m surprised we’re happy to see him go unless financial circumstances dictate. His work rate and threat in the final third is really valuable and he’s been unlucky not to get more game time given our inconsistencies. If he does go and there is no attacking replacement, we’re gambling on Rogers in particular staying fit for the rest of the season.

I always felt Buendia did lose out on a lot of stats because of bad finishing and /or being the killer pass that was then squared. Some of out best attacks on Tuesday were from him doing something within one or two passes before the finish. Not saying we should keep him, just that stats don't show his best bits.
