Isn’t EmiB the guy hoisting 3 cabin bags on to the plane?
Either he loves his thick cut marmalade/ marmite/insert food of choice or he’s doing a lot of reading!

I think this is a link to the image I saw
https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2024/july/24/gallery--villa-depart-for-usa-tour/

Ah, I see. You have to scroll down to the gallery and he’s after Bailey!

Emi B is carrying his weekly supply of maté. Good luck not getting stopped at US Border Control. Bailey giving his Yardie look too. No wonder we need such a large squad.

I had to look that up. Mate with an accent on the e:  A South American caffeine herbal drink, the national drink of Argentina!
Gotta be.
Thanks, Rudy.

Angus Kinnear (Leeds CEO): “Buendía was on our list, & very clearly (the feedback) from Aston Villa — he wasn’t going to be released, & the player didn’t want to come back down. He felt he’d served his time at Championship level.

Be interesting to see if he gets any minutes soon. He was always pissed off when he was subbed, so I can't see him being happy being an unused sub every week. I do wonder if we've out grown him and he'll need to move on in January?

He played 77 minutes in the U21's match so he's steadily getting match fit. He was looking good last pre-season, very sharp and harder to knock off the ball. He'll be getting more minutes soon, even if it's only Wycombe and Bolton. He might be used as an impact sub for a while and if he does well in those, he might start making a claim to be in the side from the start.

Also Emery does seem to like to have people around the squad for a few games before putting them in if they've been out long term. I think he'll get plenty of minutes between now and Christmas.

Obviously it depends how each match is going but I reckon there's a good chance we'll see him make an appearence or two from the bench and then start at Wycombe.

Surely that's just sensible man management to mitigate the risk of another injury.

It does feel like we have outgrown him, but he was showing signs if stepping up before his injury so I wouldn’t be in a hurry to sell him.  At least give Emery this season to work with him.

Given Duran doesn't press much, I wonder if a double substitution with Duran coming on with Buendia to replace Watkins and, say, Rogers might be the way we go in games.

Buendia's high-press style suits the way Emery wants to play, so I'd be amazed if the club got rid anytime soon. Contract's up in 2026?, so this next 12 months is pretty important for both parties.
