Moreno was the Halloween frightener, not Emi.

I believe AV84's point was that Emi was featured walking in normally in the video, rather than him being the person doing the "scaring".

Yeah. I said the video of Moreno jumping out at people. Thought it was clear enough.

Straight lines are not too tricky with ligament recoveries, it's turning the knee in a different direction to which the foot is planted that causes issues.  You can walk and begin to jog in one plane fairly early in recovery but it's loading stresses across the knee that is the biggest problem.

You being a doctor gives your opinion a bit more weight than from most posters.

If he is out for the 8 months they initially said, then he might come back for the run in. If we are still competing on multiple fronts at that point it will be like a fantastic new signing just when we need it. I picture him coming off the bench against Liverpool and setting up the winner.
That's my optimistic spin.

Would be nice to see but in reality after no where near as long out as Emi, look how long it is taking Moreno and Ramsay to get back to anywhere near match fitness / sharpness

Yeah, I think something like Carlos is more likely. May get a few minutes before the end of the season but really looking at getting a full pre season and then getting back properly next season.

Just watched the 99 goals on the club site.  What strikes me about the Buendia footage is that he is particularly good at getting in around Ollie in the box and picking up the bits and pieces.  He's good in tight spaces and breaks the lines really well very much unlike Bailey/Diaby in style.  He was involved in a lot of our goals towards the end of last season, in the build up with linking passes, providing assists and finishing as well.
He'd have been an asset this year, a shame for him to get this injury just as we turn into a team in which players can thrive.

Any news on the wee chap?
He would be awesome for the run in.

I think Emery mentioned that both him and Ty would be back training before end of the season but wouldn't be available to play.

That will really be like having 2 new players*

*But who already fully understand how our Manager sets up and expects us to play - they could be vital

And that is without any significant new recruits if we make CL

If we have everyone fit and available we've actually got a pretty strong squad now, with just a couple of places where the cover players are very young/inexperienced, I don't think we need a huge amount of investment/new players to be capable of a champions league campaign but we do need to have a much better year with regard to injuries.

I was thinking something similar at the weekend. A medium to long-term injury* to Ollie or Dibu could derail us though.

*Is there any other type when it involves the Villa?

Not that they're a valid source for this kind of thing but the Fantasy Football site had Buendia listed as due back in March for a while. Its changed recently to say June, same as Mings. Maybe they're going off what Emery said.

Was anyone really expecting to see them back in the team this season?
