It's a guess either way.  And mine is similar to Carlos, no substantial contribution this season.

Me too. But I do hope Paul is right. He usually is!

Rumours yesterday that it was an ACL - looks as if they were correct.

A real pisser for Emi as he was on fire in the pre-season games.

Reckon that Monchi’s just opened up his "Busy attacking midfielder" spreadsheet and his contacts book.

One slight upside - at least we've got a few weeks of the transfer window remaining to bring in somebody.

Absolutely gutted. He’s one of my favourite players to watch. I love his technique and tenacity for us. Had high hopes for him this season.

Same here. I wish him a fully and speedy recovery. Stay strong, Emi.

I like he's got a nasty steak in him. He's always causing trouble at corners, and don't care if he's against a much bigger bloke.

Hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Wonder if we were already bringing in someone - Zaniolo say - and are now keeping Coutinho. Or possibly will no longer loan out our very own ancient philosopher, Philogenes.

He operated mainly on the flank. A nasty steak indeed

So cover

Obvious choice is Phil with possibility of Jacob when back fit.

This Felix geezer we keep getting linked with - is that his preferred role?

Or who else would fit the position?

We should just go and stump the cash for him tbh

My prediction is that in this new era, we are going to do things differently. Under previous regimes, an innocuous knock that was supposed to be a week or two out would basically turn terminal. This time, we are saying ‘significant’ and preparing the grim reaper, but he will be prancing around like a deer in the meadow in a matter of weeks.

Hope it’s not going to keep him out for the rump of the season.  At least he’s not done his T-Bone.

Leaves a big hole in the squad though. Need someone big to filet.

I really like Buendia but I'm not sure he has been 'great' in pre season bar the Newcastle game. I'm confident we'll get a replacement it's just getting them up to speed with what Emery will want that will be the issue.

Emi was small enough to act in the Despicable Me movies as one of the mignons.
