The wording 'significant' is pretty grim.

Yes, that's concerning.

And we all think Carlos isn't the same player after his injury.  What is Emi going to be like with his running and body movement?

Awful news for EMI but a little bit of me is saying this could be good for us, particularly if we get a better and stronger quality replacement in - Zaniolo possibly.  Even so it’s a real shame

Who’s already suffered two ACLs .

We all know what happens next. It’s the Villa

The good thing is Buendia is a really fit player and determined. As shit as this is as long as the prognosis is positive he can come back well. It’s not like the past where these types of injuries were potentially career ending. He’s still got plenty of good years ahead of him.

Sad to see any player injured for long periods.

Romano has us possibly bringing in Nicolo Zaniolo as a replacement.

Shit news for him and us. I suppose the one sort of positive is that it's happened now rather than just after the window shuts. So if it is a season ender it gives us a bit of time to bring someone else in if Emery wants to.

The club don't know the extent of the injury and he will have it scanned. Hopefully it's not his ACL.

Awful news and yet again another major injury to a Villa player right at the start of the season, thankfully the window is still open.

If they're already announcing it as a "significant knee ligament injury" then they've probably got a strong idea that it's not going to be good news.

Probably also means Phil isn't going anywhere too.

Feel really really sorry for the player, just shit news. Not great for the club either in terms of squad depth.
Without wanting to sound harsh, he didn’t look excellent in pre season, he did against Newcastle and scored a great goal against Valencia, bit otherwise he was fairly ineffectual and don’t think he would of been near starting for us.
Saying all that, i have huge sympathy for him.
