He’s our best outfield player and has been since midway through last season and can’t get a game. Madness, we must start him.

What are the words to his song?
Emi Buendia; from Argentina; he signed for Villa; from Carrow Road; he's five foot seven; he's football heaven; please don't take; my Emi; away;

To be fair Gerrard said in one of his interviews today that he would have this season if it hadn't been for a niggly injury.

I've been singing it all afternoon. Earworm?  Not a chance. He's indeed football heaven.

As soon he came on he was demanding the ball, wanting to get hold of the game.
It was a fantastic performance and with Camara providing a dynamic deeper midfield role you can start to see a far more dominant midfield. Gerrard has just got to get the balance and selection right.

This guy demonstrated just how static our midfield had been until he came on. I got fed up of counting the passes along our back line because there was little movement in front of them. That all changed with the introduction of Buendia. He has to be a regular starter.

This guy doesn't even start and he's already outshining and contributing more goals and involvement than JG does for Man City again this season.
For a third of the price, what he brings to us in terms of energy, creativity and goal threat, along with Ramsey, compensates for what we lost with Grealish.
Oh, and we have Coutinho!

I believe Emi's goal and assist totals will be higher than Jack's this season. Again! And neither is a lock in to start when they should be.

Can Buendia maintain that energy for 90 minutes?

Right now, I would take an energetic Buendia in the starting line up over Coutinho. Even if it was only for sixty minutes.

I reckon that’s his little get out clause to be honest
He’s got to start him because it would look stupid now not too

Playing devils advocate, would that mean 30 mins of a slower Coutinho at the end of the game? Assuming that’s the change you meant? Does Buendia have a role as an impact sub?

FYI, I’m in the ‘play both’ camp myself.

Bringing Phil on after 65 minutes is a nice problem to have!  The swap needs to happen as there no point having a flabby squad if players aren’t rotated when form dictates.

He's another along with Bailey who I would label as an impact player.  I'm sure somewhere down the line Gerrard will attempt to reverse things but wait and see

Coutinho looked to be limping as he walked off, so I would think Buendia is a nailed on starter against Palace.
