He’s good at showing glimpses of promise every game. Alas, glimpses only.
This is it, but that inability to get away from defenders reduces his potential impact on any game.

Too often tonight, he tried to thread the ball through their defence only for the pass to be picked off as to easy to read.  He's too slow to be a top player and I think we have massively overpaid for him on the evidence so far.  Some nice touches at times but can be a bit tippy tappy, nowhere near fit enough and I am still not sure what his best position is.
I said exactly this during the game.
His slide rule passes need re-calibrating.

He ought to be offering a lot more than he has so far.

The only thing that’s disappointed so far is the pace element, I was expecting that explosive pace from a standing start but he just doesn’t have that. I think he’s frustrated himself and just needs to chill a bit, it’s quite clear he has the ability.

So far has been the biggest flop in our history when you consider the price tag. Its unbelievable anyone at the club thought he was worth 40m.

He needs to improve quick

I'm also disappointed by the lack of goals and assists, the misplaced passes, the losing the ball because he's too small, and also the stupid strops when he does something wrong or gets subbed. Apart from that, cracking signing.

Most were saying the same about Marvelous and look what happens when he gets a bit of confidence, Buendia will be fine, the adjustment is taking longer thats all.

I think there is a very decent player in there. He's shown patches of it here and there but obviously not enough so far. I think 'biggest flop in the clubs history so far' and 'complete waste of money' are a tad over the top seeing as he's only been here a few months but then again, a lot of our fans are not known for their patience.

he gets into good positions in the final third and is always looking for a through ball to the striker(s) that, let's be honest, no-one else in the side can do. So, let's stick with him - the effort is there. There's clearly ability too - let's not right him off yet.

I agree it is too early to write him off, there is obvious talent there. Maybe we will see the best of him next season.
I do not think it is unreasonable to expect a bit more contribution than we have seen so far. His biggest problem right now is the amount of times he is passing to the opposition. Last night it happened several times and you just can not afford to do that at this level.

I think we’ll see a different Buendia next season. Close season and more experience at this level and he’ll be just fine
