A nice problem to have but it is hard to see where/how we can improve next as there’s few obvious weaknesses and the next level of player is unlikely to consider us (yet).

Which is precisely why Smith's telling the players that we can beat anyone in the league.

If this group gel the way it looks like they might be able to, top 6 is absolutely realistic. And if we qualify for Europe then a whole different level of player will take an interest in us.

Which then begs the question, surely, that we already have top 6 players, why do we need new ones?

We want top 4 players? We want players who can win us FA cup or europa league in future?

Exactly. The Premier League champions went out and (over)paid £100m for a player they didn't really need over the summer just gone.

Whether it's to stop your competitors getting them, or to mean that if your current £100m player gets injured, you can bring another one in, a top 6 side now isn't going to be enough to either get us in to the Champions League any time soon, win anything, or even keep us in the top 6 unless we continue to invest in better players.

Desn Smith pre Wolves
"We know the qualities that he gives us we see it in training and it won’t be long until he’s back in the team."

He did OK with some nice passes. Still far too weak on the ball though.

I thought he did ok but I do not think the midfield 3 looked balanced with him Luiz and SJM

Played well on and off the ball. Few killer passes nice touches, finds space and seems to run hard and nip in now and again.

Once he went off any semblance of attacking evaporated.

He should be playing on the right, not centrally.

He signalled to the bench to come off…I thought he played well but if he felt he needed to come off it’s hardly an error by Dean is it?!

Why on earth was he asking to come off? He wasn't injured, and he hasn't been away on international duty.

I’m not convinced by him at all. Some nice touches but he’s a luxury in a team still trying to find our feet

Nah I don’t think he’s a luxury. He’s someone that can find a pass, we need that.

I thought he was very decent, also he's tenacious and tracks back.

He should be playing on the right, not centrally.

Bailey will play there and Traore also prefers that side so think he'll stay centrally tbh.

I've given him stick but thought he was our MOTM today so hopefully can build on this performance.

You would probably be best asking him..I just saw him signal..

If I had an honest choice would claim my money back and make a much more clever signing in the January window.
