Creative/attacking midfield is not an area of the pitch many of us have been asking to address which does make me a bit concerned that this is partly an insurance move against Grealish leaving (the journalist Miguel Delaney apparently thinks Jack to Citeh is happening). But hopefully, Jack and Emi can be together in electric dreams for us.

I see it as insurance, but not against Jack leaving, more a lesson learned about how our form dipped when he was unavailable, or off form personally.  This just feels like an attempt to make us less of a one-man creative force.  I think it's a brilliant sign of how the club is run these days.  "This was an issue last season, how do we fix it? Oh, right, well let's get the deal done as quickly as possible with the least amount of fuss imaginable"

Delaney is close to the Manchester clubs, and doubtless from City's point of view they can't imagine why Jack wouldn't go there this summer, but nobody I've seen who reports close to the Villa seems to think it's inevitable at all. Evans in the Athletic reported we want Buendia to play with Jack.

Would Buendia sign on if Jack was going straight out the door? I can't see us selling under £100 million plus, and I can't see anyone paying that for a player with a clear long term injury issue that needs managing. If City do pay it, not much we can do, but I trust Villa to find a couple of forward players with the money to compliment what we have and still kick on. Especially with Buendia in there to pull the strings.

From the clips he looks like a SJM type player or am I missing something?

More Barkley I thought, or what Barkley hinted that he could be.

Yes there is, Paul Lambert, they came here to our final home game and Villa fans were so arrogant about Lambert going to them, pre game we’re arseholes and during the match. The sort of arrogance you’d expect from Leeds fans.

Well that worked out well! Now we’ll see if Buendia can make that transition to a new team without Pukki

Yes, that'll be the biggest worry for all concerned. I wonder how Messi manages without access to the world's greatest striker, Pingu.

That's from "the 'I hate Villa' thread".

They seem to dislike Mings more than is healthy as well. Did he do something to offend them sometime?

Played for Ipswich I guess.

Pukki does have brilliant movement from the Buendia clips.

When we were absolutely shite we still clicked our fingers and their manager came running. They really thought they would be able to hold onto a star player now we are the biggest spending club on Earth. Delusional yoyo twats.

The arrival of NSWE and us pulling our shit together on and off the pitch has co-incided with quite a level of 'hatred' from some random clubs. I fucking love it.

Throw in a bit of casual curry-based racism about the B6 area and you have yourself a perfect storm of a fanbase in total meltdown.

This signing gives us two things we have lacked.
One is ball retention the second is a killer pass through the middle.
I work with a Norwich fan- this lad is the real deal and still only 24!

I love it when team x claim their best player is only made to look good because of that other player, the one they keep because no one wants.

Grealish, let's see how good he looks without Keinan Davis.

I thought it was an area most agreed we needed to address. There was a feeling that Barkley on form was exactly the sort of player we needed, and we need to find a better, more consistent version. Let's hope we have.
