Buendia - there is now way that the current Champions of Germany will buy him once they have seen him play

I'm guessing they're not signing him because they've randomly pulled his name out of a hat.

I think every club should be made to do one transfer like this. That would be tremendous fun.

Might explain Marlon Harewood.

yep Jacob Tanswell suggested this move for Emi last week. He needs regular football

Emi2 might well need regular football, but Villa need reserve players who are fit and actually exist. Emi2 meets those criteria

Less than 18 months left on his deal, another key factor. Getting a loan move to German champions seems an odd move, mind. Bit of a stretch that Buendia would get more minutes from them than us. From Leeds links to Leverkusen, his agent has been putting in a shift it would seem.

Doesn’t the extension mean 30-months remain?

Maybe, wasn't aware it went through. Mings and Digne next two contracts club will be reviewing. Olsen (and Hause) gone in the summer.

Being brutally honest Mings and Digne based on their age would have to take pay cuts. Digne was the highest paid player at one stage - he may still be.

Possibly but Digne has a strong case for extension. Playing very well, rarely injured and back in French squad too. I guess the club were hoping Maatsen would replace him but no sign of that yet.

Mings is a tricky one. If he proves his fitness at all in the next few months he will have plenty of offers elsewhere of 2 year deals in the summer. He's had a few serious injuries in his career and will be 33 when his current deal ends with us. Another 12 months on top of it might be enough for him to finish up his career with us which would be great.

The worry is he's nowhere near the player he was pre injury. He's admitted he's nowhere near those levels at the moment. Playing two games a week is hardly helping.

Buendia - there is now way that the current Champions of Germany will buy him once they have seen him play - you can guarantee he will be back either warming our bench or sitting in the stands next season.

He has been so poor since his arrival here for a then club record fee!

It's not like you to dig out any possible downside to any given situation concerning Villa.

Strange decision unless we have someone coming in - we have only a knackered looking Rogers that plays as a dedicated #10

Mcginn often plays there for Scotland. A few people think it’s Tieleman’s strongest position. Ramsey and Malen could play there too I reckon.

I think there’s always been options but Emery (and injuries to be fair) has chosen not to rotate Rogers.

Agreed we have a lot of options in that position. It was only injuries really that gave Buendia minutes in recent weeks, Tielemans having to drop back and McGinn out. Emery has been a bit too loyal to Rogers I think, every manager has a favourite or two and Rogers is definitely one of Emery's. He's been running on empty in recent weeks.

He will have a lot more space and time over there. It might suit him.

Emiliano Buendia has completed his medical ahead of a loan move to Bayer Leverkusen. Loan with option to buy, with the deal hoping to be announced before #AVFC and Leverkusen’s respective Champions League ties on Wednesday evening. Story

Loan with option to buy = complete waste of our time
