He's added nothing for 18 months now so hardly going to be missed.

I've always liked idea of Asensio or Felix.
Been chasing both for many a window

I had expected Buenida to stay this window given the extension and a chance till end of season but maybes something cooking that means have to shift Buenida out.

Always liked Buendia and hope it goes well for him in Leverkusen. Strange time for a move perhaps given he was recently back getting minutes on the pitch again. But as seen yesterday he hasn't the mobility to play in midfield so it's at 10 or nowhere. Never did it enough for us when fully fit.

Another attacking player must be incoming.

Yep, it's 'No.10' or bust with Emi in the top flight.  He just hasn't got the mobility or physical attributes to play elsewhere.  To be fair to him, even if he's having a poor game, he'll still have the moment of magic and create something.  He obviously wants to play, but I think his best role in top flight football is an impact sub who can come on when a team needs a moment of magic to create something.

Felix has to be a big no-no. Expensive and very flaky.
Asensio - can't comment since I know little of his game.

Emi B - of whom I was a big advocate when he arrived at B6 - has shown that he cannot cut it in the top echelon of the Premier League; maybe the injury was too much or perhaps he's just not physically robust enough for the game at that level. Anyway, if we can cash in and / or get some gametime into him we'll be able to flog him at a decent price.

Remembers Gerrard and pukes in mouth.

yep Jacob Tanswell suggested this move for Emi last week. He needs regular football

Emi2 might well need regular football, but Villa need reserve players who are fit and actually exist. Emi2 meets those criteria

Less than 18 months left on his deal, another key factor. Getting a loan move to German champions seems an odd move, mind. Bit of a stretch that Buendia would get more minutes from them than us. From Leeds links to Leverkusen, his agent has been putting in a shift it would seem.

Doesn’t the extension mean 30-months remain?

Maybe Buenida has gone as a sweetener.
That can happen sometimes as we move for one of their players in the summer.

Maybe, wasn't aware it went through. Mings and Digne next two contracts club will be reviewing. Olsen (and Hause) gone in the summer.

Being brutally honest Mings and Digne based on their age would have to take pay cuts. Digne was the highest paid player at one stage - he may still be.

I'm gutted Emi seems to be out the door with this one. I always appreciated what he tried to do, the way he tries to play and I don't think we have anyone else who does - the quick through ball, the snappier passing, etc. Ugh. Anyway, good luck to him.

Buendia - there is now way that the current Champions of Germany will buy him once they have seen him play - you can guarantee he will be back either warming our bench or sitting in the stands next season.

He has been so poor since his arrival here for a then club record fee!

I was a big fan of Buendia at Norwich, and wanted us to sign him the season they went down. I think we waited a year too long and paid too much in the end, and that has added weight of expectations that goes with a chunky (at the time record) fee.

The injury came at a bad time and I can't see him being more than a bit player coming off the bench now. That role is better suited to younger players on lower wages, and i can see why we are trying to move him on.

I watch a bit of Bundesliga football as it comes with the TV package I have in the Netherlands, he is more than good enough to shine in that league.

I like Emi as a player, but he's always lacked that yard of pace that would make him an asset at a top, top team.  I love his effort, and his ability to pick a pass, but he's always been likely to be picked off by a quick press, and he loses the ball a bit too easily sometimes.  Maybe he'll win more free-kicks on the continent then in the premier league?

I was more than happy to keep him as a squad player.  He's not getting the 10 spot ahead of Rogers, but a more than capable option from the bench who always tries 100% (which as paying fans is the very least we should expect, but don't always get).

If he's going, we have to assume someone else is coming in, at least on loan to cover the rest of the season in that position. I'd happily take Felix.  I know others think he's flakey, but the reality is he's just suffered at Chelsea because Cole Palmer has proven to be exceptional in that position for Chelsea.  When he's played, he's been good - just not "Cole Palmer" good.

If he came on loan, I feel he'd have a point to prove, and he knows Unai has wanted him for a while.  Could work nicely for 6 months? And who knows, we might all be clamouring to make the move permanent in the summer.

I'm guessing they're not signing him because they've randomly pulled his name out of a hat.

I think every club should be made to do one transfer like this. That would be tremendous fun.
