What a day, what a great result!
We've certainly stepped up this season, so well done to the owners, Dean and his coaching staff and the players.
Marv and Hause were both immense today. We defended brilliantly and were dangerous in attack.
Emi was great and "gets" the Villa! His passion towards the fans after saves or when we scored was great to see. Loved Ollie's 1st touch by the touchline from a high clearance. Pity his second touch saw it go out of play. El Goalzi just keeps scoring.
Interesting to see Jack having a verbal pop at Mount in the 1st half after a challenge in the middle of the park. All's not well there.
Their number 5 is a right theatrical w-nker.
Tuchel is very touchy. His remonstrations with the ref after the final whistle was comical and embarrassing.
We are on an upwards trajectory. I hope when we make it into Europe and the top 4 we don't turn into a chelski and play their version of spoilt brat football.
UTV! Enjoy the Summer...it could be very interesting.

Jack's reaction was cringeworthy and I wish the league would do something about play acting but until they do we need to be streetwise and make shithousing part and parcel of our game.
As I said earlier this season, you can take a stand and watch from the moral high ground while everyone else climbs the table and wins the trophies.

It was disappointing but nevertheless it was a red, he pushed him in the face. In the first half Jorginho or Kovacic (can’t remember which) did much worse when merely obstructed, going don’t clutching his ear. Until refs don’t give things unless a player goes down/makes a meal of it, this will go on.

Was nervy even at 2 zip, never mind 2-1.

They were dangerous in the final third at various stages, but you'd expect nothing less from a team who've spunked so much on attacking players in recent years.

Our final ball wasn't great when we could counter. But those sort of wins show different facets of our character.

Excellent performance by Marvelous, who deserved the Man of the Match award. His last two games have shown what a good player he can be.

Great to read that one of our owners was there and celebrated the goals like the rest of us.

Sixteen wins for the first time since the MON years.

When he had far less competition than we see now.

How in Christ's name are Newcastle 12th, BTW.

They looked just about good enough to stay up with the bottom three effectively relegating themselves early doors. But it's odd to see them comfortably numb in midtable.  Another year of Bruceball it is then.

I thought the pen was soft but Jorginho didnt put up much resistance when it was given.

yep we wouldn’t be happy being on the other end of a decision like that

In fairness to spud head they had a brilliant end to their season. Joe Willock looks a super player that they will want to sign from Arsenal. He’s made a massive difference to how they play. I wouldn’t mind him at Villa. He’s a motivated version of Dele Alli the Pirate/Tramp.

Excellent to be back!

Felt like there was a lot more than 10,000 on the gate and the players certainly responded.

The defence is exceptional and even in that sticky opening 20, they looked solid beyond belief.

We're 3 or 4 players shy from something very special. One very happy 6 year old in the car in a post game and Happy Meal stupor. Kept up the tradition of going to the Mordor McDonald's and him flashing his colours about the place.

Villa Park is an awesome, awesome place.

Really pleased with the performance.

Especially pleased with the fans, those that cheered and clapped drowning out those boo boys pre kick off. The ones soon cheering when Traore scored.

Nakamba’s been brilliant. I remember thinking he looked the real deal at Norwich last season and then hasn’t really kicked on until now. Hopefully he’ll be a fixture next season, his weakness is close control.

It is odd, maybe not the best time to go in for the Johnny Depp look.

Unfortunately this is how it works these days.

The incident in the first-half involved Jorginho. Clipped on the leg by Grealish, rolls around holding his face and sets the tone for how so many players try to maximise situations and put massive pressure on the referee.
I wasn't impressed by Jack's reaction but their chickens came home to roost and their captain picked-up a red card.

There's nothing new in this though. Chelsea had a world class exponent for several seasons; a big, strapping athlete named Drogba who would go over like a 12-year-old schoolgirl at the slightest touch.
