Great end to the season but slightly frustrated that we lost to Sheff Utd and took 1 point from Brighton and Burnley. Upgrade the results against these type of teams and we’re on the March.

I thought we were excellent all over the pitch today. I’d agree with Marv being MOM but McGinn too was great as was the whole defence. Targett is my man of season, outstanding through. With three top quality signings we will be genuine contenders for top 6 next season

Weirdly one or two of those signings could be a previous dud

Targett was awful last year, but contender for player of the season this year. Huge improvements with a few players, so who knows maybe next year we could get s pleasant surprise from Samson, Davis, Wesley etc.

Is it just me or was Grealish a bit over-dramatic with the incident at the end?
He did what was necessary. Competent professional player.

Great to finish the season on a high dispatching two of the scab six back to back. We are on an upward trajectory which hopefully continues into next season.

Again it showed we're great against teams who are trying to win. We need more creativity when we play sides who are trying to block.

I was really chuffed today.

When the first went in my lad just jumped up with me, then said 'I want everything Villa daddy, Villa kits, Villa bed, Villa pyjamas, Villa wallet and do they do Villa money?'

It's going to get expensive.

He was perhaps a little. Watching back on the highlights now, I noticed the reaction of Thiago Silva who was just behind them. His entire body seemed to say "oh, for fuck's sake" as Azpilicueta swung his arm, and then stepped in to keep people away with a "look, just let the ref send him off, okay?" attitude. He knew straight away.

Brilliant player, btw. I'd love us to bag someone of his ability and standing.

No need for whataboutery. Jack's reaction was cringey/unsportsmanlike.

You have no choice, referees consistently show that they won't give decisions otherwise. Look at how many Man U get when it isn't a foul. I'm certainly not going to castigate a player for making sure a referee correctly sent off an opponent.

Spare a thought for me mate, I've got five grandsons ranging from eight to sixteen!  I couldn't live with myself if I didn't do it.

I can't ever recall seeing a team losing a match by 1 goal start wasting time towards the end and finally the ref is forced to book their keeper. Truly bizarre.

We've beaten Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham this season after years of shit results against them. Next season Man Utd and Man City. They're both due one.

Lovely to see a set piece plan.

What was Tuchel complaining about post game? Definite pen and definite red.

Huge win. It was important to end the season on a high, show potential signings what we’re about and have some confidence to take into pre-season. Roll on August.

It feels a bit more mid-90s than the late 2010s...it's more exciting than the MON years. Let's hope we keep it up!

Those of us poo pooing Jack’s antics to get a player sent off. If you spend most of your time being kicked by these shithouses don’t you think getting some of them removed from the pitch is a good thing? Maybe like me and most of us he hates Chelsea for all the same reasons.
All has been said about the game and individual performances I’ll just add, McGinn, get some longer studs for these conditions.
