Yeah there was a claret shorted training kit or something, which went much better with the blue tops. Oh well.

You're right. I was looking at the gallery where Matty Cash was wearing claret shorts with the top. Looking at the shop, the shorts are the same colour as the shirt.

He's wearing tracky bottoms not shorts

Have we had a full sky-blue/light-blue away kit before? I don't care about the Cov/Blose colour comparisons when we go for a blue away

66-67 season

That's a mad coincidence, I've just posted on the Man Utd game thread how I came to own one of those shirts!

There is a picture in the same gallery of 2 of the women's teams wearing claret shorts - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :)

The ones Coutinho wore to the wildlife sanctuary looked quite smart but may be less flattering on the larger gentleman.

New away shirt looks decent enough. Wish they would have a kit release where you could just see the entire kit. What colour are the shorts and socks. Claret or black would be alright. Light blue or white, not so much.

On the OS the shorts are the same colour and the socks are claret

I personally loathe the shirt and shorts being one colour and the socks another colour combination, it looks terribly lopsided, more so when the socks are darker than the rest.

The worst offenders

Dishonourable mention

That phot is the 69/70 FA cup final. Leeds usually wore white socks, but because Chelsea wore white socks, too, Leeds the ‘away team’ changed.
In the replay Chelsea had yellow and Leeds white.

If I recall in the fa cup final Chelsea had yellow and Leeds white.
I’ll go and check now

That is the FA Cup Final.

Chelsea wore yellow socks to Leeds' white in the replay.

Castore. I clocked that Wolves wore their kit, but now wherever you look, their stuff is everywhere. They must have spent a fortune.

I have no beef with the designs for Villa, though I am definitely not a customer!

Does anyone know why Elmohamady is one of the models ? Does he still have a role at the club ?

Yes, he was appointed as a club ambassador recently. There's an interview with him on Pravda from this week where he talks about enjoying media work and having other offers but coming back to Villa was what he wanted to do.

I follow him on Twitter and our Elmo does seem to love the Villa.

Should have checked first.
But I do remember back then no part of the kit can match.
Don’t know when it changed, though
