Felt to me the type of game we regularly used to lose in our last few seasons before relegation where we’d look competitive for an hour or so but ultimately the other team had extra the quality or could always make changes to win the game.

Well it was more of a Bruceball jibe, I guess and Newcastle fans would also likely agree.

I am bemused what's happened to Luiz. From being rubbish, to being worried man city would buy him back, to rubbish again.

Hindsight and all that and history tells us it was better we didn’t go up in 2018. And Eamonn may be right about the Bruceball jibe, but at the time driving home from Wembley absolutely beyond gutted and then hearing that quote later, I was raging. I’ve never forgotten it funnily enough and had a fairly irrational dislike of Cairney ever since and am quite glad his career doesn’t seem to be going anywhere fast.

Even so, no need for it whatsoever. Be gracious in defeat and classy in victory.

I hadn’t heard that quote, but I think Cairney has some history with Bruce at Hull.

In the long run we’re better off, having lost that game. Another 12 months of DrX may well have put us out of business.

I rewatched the last 15 mins and was surprised at how good Traore was for that last period.
Admittedly he spent a lot of it on his arse, but when he was on his feet he was actually a threat.

He kept going , trying to make something happen.

According to the BBC website this was the first game in Premier League history in which every player in the starting line-ups for both sides was born after the first-ever Premier League game, played on 15 August, 1992.

I now feel even older.

I felt when the Premier League started! Good stat

I don't remember that quote, bit of a twatty thing to say. You could understand if it was some bitter rivalry, but Villa vs Fulham?

Not helped in the weeks leading up to the play off final Fulham not being able to sell tickets, then anyone could buy 4, then the clappers. We rightfully took the piss & it kind of blew up in our faces but we'll have the last laugh I'm sure.

I think it was a reference to us having spent more than any other club in championship history. But claiming a moral victory for football in a game where their player got away scot free with GBH on Grealish is a bit rich. He can go fuck himself the serially relegated prick.*

I think the whole fans in stadium issue needs to be discussed and how it has positively (I believe) or negatively affected our results.

Imagine yesterday if the fans had been there, with all the tension in the stadium, I don’t think we would have turned that game around. We may even have fallen further behind..

Hopefully yesterday's result will act as a fillip to the rest of the squad and enforce a belief in themselves that they can win without Jack Grealish.

If it is affecting us positively, I'd have hoped we'd have won more than six so far as a result.

Well we have only come from behind to win one league game, so I doubt having the crowd in the stadium would have made things much worse in that respect. We managed to overturn deficits in vital games against Brighton and Watford last season when the crowd was there and we had a far inferior team to now.

You also seem to have arbitrarily decided that the crowd would have totally altered the final fifteen minutes but would have had no impact on the first 75.

We don't really know what impact the lack of crowds has had, but I see no reason to assume that Villa would have suffered more or less than anyone else.
