Seriously though, we should give him a chance.
He should have gone out on loan. He needs a season playing regularly, firstly to see if he can stay fit, and secondly to find out if he does actually possess any sort of a goal threat.
... which comes back to the lack of an additional striker purchase in the last 2 windows.

I've got a good feeling about this. On Wednesday, I needed a result. I'd had a couple of really shit days at work, and we missed out on a house, so I think my negative vibes got to the players. But now I'm having a really good day at work, it's Friday, and I've got my microchipping vaccination booked for tomorrow morning. Enough positivity there for at least a dozen people, which I hope I can amplify if I can pick up a decent 5G signal in the house.

Right, back to it, haven't got time to stand around chatting to the likes of you lot.

We can't go another game with Nakamba, McGinn and Ramsey. We'll have enough of the ball and field position to need players that can do something with it. For me that means getting in Luiz and Sanson and possibly Barkley.

                    Luiz       Sanson

El Ghazi              McGinn               Traore

                         Watkins

I pretty much agree with that.
I'm another one calling for Sanson to get a start on Saturday.
McGinn seems to be un-droppable for some reason and it's royally pissing me off.
I don't see Barkley bringing anything to the table.

I think Nakamba would be better suited to this game than the last.

It's hard to know at the moment. Wolves seem to set up to defend and counterattack so maybe Luiz will be better to help unlock them? Centre of midfield seems to be the one area where we've got good options, but Dean seems to be struggling a little bit to find his best combination and get a tune out of them all.

You might be right.

I know I'm on my own but I'd start with AEG and Watkins either side of Davis. I'd also have Barkley back in playing 1:2s with him and working them.

Sanson and Nakamba or Luiz.

It's not even 7am here, but I like the sound of that.

Apart from set pieces when Mings and Konsa are up, we can not afford to just lump the ball into the box and hope for the best. Coady etc will think it's Christmas. Patient, on the ground build ups with a calculated final pass is required. Would like to see Traore's trickery in the box (great at making a yard for himself) and be some support for Watkins. McGinn needs to be hovering just outside the box for a lay back, we are not utilising his shooting skills as much as we should. Therefore:

Trez           McGinn         Luiz          Barkley

               Traore               Watkins

Play a 4 4 2

Trez in for his better workrate and habit of popping up at the back post. Gives us more options in and around the box which is what we need in the absence of Jack. If Barkley not producing, El Ghazi on at half time.  :)

Dean still saying that the team played really well the other night. Do we think he went to a different match? The truth will come out when he announces the 11 to start v Wolves.

I'd bring Trez, Barkley and Douglas back in for Traore, Ramsey and Nakamba.

I'd definitely bring Douggie back - tbh I didn't think he'd particularly had a bad one V Leicester and I think McGinn is playing worse.  Hopefully a 2 game rest will have him firing again.

Got to play Bertie against these .. yes he was shit but if he scores that Ricky Villa goal we would be going on about it for years , He is  one frustrating player but can do something out of nothing and score the odd worldie. I think he will suit Wolves tomorrow and Luis and  Sanson to come in for me....
