Chris Harte banged on about it extensively on these pages at the time. Maybe too much.

No maybe about it. Despite his protests, (denied it, supplied it) it was proven by the club and they forced him to move seats in the Holte. As Percy said, 'Smelt it, dealt it' never fails.

Seriously?

It's well documented on these pages.

Wow. I didn't think the club would get involved in something like that.

Oh yeah. I've just tried to find the thread but it was so long ago, maybe 20 years ago, I think it may have been on the previous board. What's so strange is I've met Chris, many moons before he was discovered to have severe gut problems and you'd never expect it of him. A really nice fella.

You wouldn't be popping down to Screwfix if you broke that drill bit.

My wife used to work for a charity called Action for Blind People, and when we first met I used to pretend I didn't know it was a charity, and that she worked for a niche dating agency. I always get the same vibes when I hear of Screwfix.

Anyone else get this far and expect to read "I was blind" after, or just me?

This made me LOL out loud.  I feel like I'm going to struggle to imagine Screwfix as anything else now.

Yep, forever tainted now.

Also, Action for Blind People sounds like some hi-tech, Braille based Only Fans account.

It's been folded into a bigger blind charity now. I've applied for the name but I have to meet a man on a bike to do it. There's something about a dating agency for blind people that makes me think I'll be fit to them as long as they're also deaf.

I fear the same sense used for Braille would count against you.
