That was fascinating.

I'm still disappointed with the design itself, but I don't suppose we were ever going to sweeping balustrades, red brick and stained glass. Or whatever the modern statement equivalent.might be.

But as a pragmatic solution it clearly works, and I'm genuinely in awe of people who can make this sort of thing a reality.

Magic that, always love stuff like that especially as I struggle to organise the kids getting to school with the right stuff on the right day.

Surprised the roof is coming off so late in the project, thought doing that sooner would give them more room for the other stuff. Still think it looks a bot Heath Robinson but hey ho.

My wife laughed at me for ten straight minutes when she saw what I was watching (it was, for the avoidance of doubt, the stadium video) in bed last night.

Great video !!
Looking at the finished design I wish they had put a few red bricks in there somewhere and a few nods to our history.
From inside the stadium it will look great though.

Not certain about this but I think the externals, or at least the back bit, will be clad in material/monoflex stuff, like arsenal’s stadium.

I imagine it will be replaced every few years with new branding/sponsorship etc.

If correct, it’s like the whole stand, pragmatic and cost effective but possibly lacking ambition.

It’s probably because the plant is housed internally rather than on the roof. You can’t do that with a solid structure as it needs to be breathable.

I'm slightly surprised the finished stand doesn't come back a little more, but it does look impressive; what they're doing.

Went up today to get the new kit for my lad....gonna re-mortgage the house on  Monday.

The new North will be huge compared to what we have now, loads of activity all around the stadium.

Maybe in time it'll get a better finish.

Hopefully.

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed with the exterior finish. However, it looks very imposing from inside the ground. Just imagine what the atmosphere will be like on a Champions League semi-final night with over 26k at the two ends of the ground.

Thankfully it wasn't the first time he'd made her laugh in bed.

(Only joking, Paddy.)

Love can be cruel.

Love hurts, love scars
Love wounds and mars any heart
Not tough or strong enough to take a lot of pain
Take a lot of pain
Love is like a cloud, holds a lot of rain
Love hurts
