You are then looking at a stand of 20,000 ,  that would be huge !!

Does anyone cleverer than me who knows about constructionalogical-tinkery think there is any scope to expand the Holte End? Being as there is space behind, a lack of space for GA+ options, and potentially little impact on the houses?

From AI:

"Aston Villa’s most notable recent real estate action is their owners' multi-million pound acquisition and development of land in the immediate vicinity of Villa Park. This includes the purchase and development of the former Birmingham Wheels site and "The Warehouse", a match-day fan zone venue, to fuel a 50,000+ stadium expansion and host Euro 2028 matches."

 ;D

Well that’s cleared that up then.

From a viewing point you would be quite far back if you added a tier

I’ve banged on about this for years. I think it should be redeveloped as a single tier fuck off stand like the new Spurs or Everton stadiums. I hate the fact it’s two tier as it does impact the “one ness “ of the stand as a whole which I think negatively impacts the atmosphere. We have the space behind and if we could do a sympathetic extension across the Trinity into the land the other side you could straighten up the angle on the left side which whilst iconic massively irritates my love of symmetrical design. It would also maybe allow for GA+ to be shifted elsewhere in the ground as imv it has no place on the Holte.

I think the upside on capacity vs costs would be marginal.

They had one opportunity to build a massive fuck off stand to replace the North and chose not to do it.  I can't see any significant alteration to the external structure of the Holte happening any time soon.  I wonder if they could extend the upper tier forward by a few rows (like the North) and maybe the lower tier back by a few rows, but again cost/benefit would say no.

I think Spurs' Zone of Silence stand has about 17.5k seats, compared to the Holte End's 13.5k?

The Spuds one is apparently 34m high. I've dangled from the roof of the Holte, but I can't say how high it is.

Yes, that is a good point. If they didn't take the opportunity to do it on the North, why would they go for it on the Holte.

Agreed. I've long thought the GA+ should be put in the bottom rows on the Trinity closest to the Holte, that way they can see and hear perfectly the Holte in all its glory and the club can shift tickets that are usually the last to go.

Worse. Our 2012-13 away kit. Which definitely put me on Santa’s naughty list.

I’m certainly no expert, but, I think what they’re doing with the North Stand has to do with what they will eventually do to the Witton Lane. Maybe a wrap around corner?
I’ve also thought that they might be thinking of eventually joining the Trinity.

The updated plans show the two tier Trinity configuration. So presumably our capacity will increase from 37k to 38-38.5?

I wonder if we can temporarily reduce the size of the away allocation while we have the North closed.
