My sources* tell me that planning apps for the development of the area around Villa Park are expected to go in in late 2027.

*A dm on X.

Are we talking the railway/station work and the paving leading up to the stand or other work the Villa are actually doing? Because late 27 doesn't give much time to do that first work before the summer.

I think it’s more to do with the wider area, the stuff that was in the local area plan re: housing, the industrial park over by Aston station, Witton Square etc.

I had the same DM. But sometimes he gets over excited and misreads documents.

True. It does all fit in with that local plan that was posted though.

It's just a massive shame that it'll become completely redundant after they've built the Sports Quarter (which will have a tram stop, so realistically will be more like a Sports Half, or even Sports Two Thirds).

Over a million in home attendances for the third season in a row. Ticked over the million v Spurs.

We’ll need some good cup runs/home draws to do it next season.

If planning is going in late-27 then this is post-Euros and a much larger project. I hope it is as ambitious as we all want and looks to expand the Witton Lane Stand.

The old plans for the hotel at the Holte End. Someone earlier in the thread misremembered it was at the Witton End.

Glad that never happened  .  There was also a hotel Ellis wanted to build in the 80s on the edge of the North stand and Trinity I believe ?
