Tell the North Stand people before the press release and the story is in the press already without any input and control of the story from the club. The same as telling the Fans Forum people last week. My brother had all the details for him and his daughter yesterday within a few hours of the announcment. Not sure what is amateur hour about any of that.

The lower tier obviously sweeps around to the other stands as it is, will be interesting to how much or if any of it will remain open.
The Athletic piece yesterday said the capacity will be reduced by 5k, so that's not the entire stand capacity.

I assumed the lower north would be rebuilt and made into safe standing. The slope of it is not steep enough for seating as it is.

Could be. Don’t forget they will be “optimising the bowl” in other corners and stands. So capacity might be 6,500 down from the NS closure, but 1500 up elsewhere.

The club themselves said the capacity during the rebuild would be 37,000 and a bit (to paraphrase). That's 6,000 and a bit down on our highest gate this season.

It isn’t the end of the world, I think we’ll cope with the short term financial loss especially as we’ll be hiking up the price of CL tickets.

introducing safe standing to the lower tier of the north stand would be a massive win from this pause/go kerfuffle.

She won't turn up in London, not that it will exonerate her.

I didn't think Ozzfest was actually confirmed, but Liverpool hosted gigs when the Anfield Road was being done.

Somebody sent me this:

Media Entrance
•••
Media will access the media facilities through the existing me.* in the North West corner of the stadium. The entrance will provide access to the media suite including cafe, press conference room, mixed zone and supporting facilities.
Media Cafe
* The media cafe / lounge will have a cafe style atmosphere with a mix of loose and fixed fumiture.
* Workstations will be provided for a minimum of 50 people with electrical
Bow
plug in points and task lighting/lamps.
• The area will also be suitable for use as a staff office on non matchdays, allowing AVFC employees to hot-desk.
Mixed Zone
• The mixed zone will be connected to the players areas via the players tunnel, with a separate dedicated corridor connection to the media cafe and press conference room.
Press Conference
• The press conference room will have raked seating for a minimum of
75. The manager and players will have access to the rear of the press conference room via the Tunnel, with a green room also provided.
• The press conference room will be capable of being converted into a warm up facility for the away team for intemational/neutral matches.
Flash
* The flash interview area will be located directly off the tunnel when leaving the playing pitch.
* It will be accessible to media personnel via a route from the back of the press conference room along the side of the away change. This will only accessible by personnel with security clearance.
• The Aston Villa Media team will have an office directly adjacent to the flash area as a base of operations for managing the interaction of players and media on a match day.
Additional Facilities
• Additional facilities including radio room and photographers camera store will be located above the media entrance at level 01.

*the rest of this was covered up by some meaningless (to me) symbol/icon in the top corner of the screen, couldn’t see or copy what was hidden by it.

Doubt there'll be a queue of people on Witton Lane looking to take away some souvenir bricks in the same way that there was on Trinity Road when the original Holte was demolished.

Cue comments about the "missing bricks" from when ithe North Stsnd was built.
