Just a fan mock up of how a stadium at Westwood Park might look.

Ignoring the horrible choice of stadium design they've gone with I think that plot is only marginally better than where we are. You'd need to take out the block of units the other side of Electric Avenue to get the sort of space we'd want I think. Given we wouldn't be moving very far I think it would need to be a significant upgrade so 65k+ and you'd want a dining hall, events area, etc (just like we've just added where we are) and that's not going to fit.

Agreed. Also, if you are the other side of the railway line and river from Aston Hall and the church, you might as well be anywhere in North Birmingham IMO. What's the point of leaving the setting of VP for an industrial estate?

Moving from VP to a stadium like that would be soul destroying.

^^ I agree. I’m of the opinion that we can build what we need to in our current location, especially if we get the regeneration right in the surrounding area.

I was just posting a picture for discussion.

I'm on board with that 100%, a bowl on an industrial site and I'd pack it in 😔

I’d be intrigued to know from someone who maybe does go in Corporate is it still predominantly Brummie/Mercian or is it slightly more cosmopolitan and “international” these days? I sit in A1 and it’s definitely more international these days. The last few games I’ve had German, French Spanish and Norwegians sat directly behind me. Though that does tend to be for Weekend games, midweeks are definitely locals.

^^ That’s encouraging. I know we take the piss out of tourist clubs but we probably need to be one.

I'm with what I think is the majority here - Villa Park will hold ~50k by the end of next year, and there seems to be a realistic plan to take that up to around 60k should we need that.  That'd put us on a par with the largest club stadia in the UK (with the exception of Manchester United).  I don't see that there can be an imminent need to extend beyond that.

I suppose we not only need to catch the clubs above us in the revenue leagues (spits) we also need to be aware of the clubs below us who are planning stadium upgrades.
